INFRASTRUCTURE

SMART CLASSROOMS: HRDC is soon going to establish 02 Smart Class Rooms for its participants. An adequate grant has been approved by the RUSA under component-11. DPR has been approved and grants are awaited. A smart class room will improve quality of teaching –learning in our institution. Also, it will provide opportunity for participants to learn how to use such aids effectively

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY: We focus in ICT usages in all our courses since inception. Various topics such as MOOCs, OER, Role of ICT in research, new modes of information storage and retrieval, computer application, communications, multimedia, computer-aided learning, Internet, etc. are covered in all the programmes. GUEST HOUSE: Well furnished Guest House for Resource Persons with the capacity of 04 VIP Rooms and 08 Normal rooms.

HOSTEL: The Human Resource Development Centre provides residential facilities for the trainees during their stay. Accommodation is available in dormitories. The hostel tries to give the trainees a homely comfort zone. The Participants Hostel can accommodate about 90 participants at a time. Our Hostel furnished with care, and very well maintained. Room heating is provided when needed, and an ample supply of quilts, blankets and linen is always at hand. Laundering services to participants are provided on payment. The hostel is well furnished and equipped to cater to the requirements of participants. Soon we will provide wi-fi facility in the hostels also.

LIBRARY: It is an integral part of the HRDC vision to build a rich library which will make the HRDC a hub of academic activity. The Library is being furnished with a wide range of books, journals, reports, newspapers and periodicals. We are trying to develop a Library that can be used by our trainees, academicians, intellectuals and researchers from within and outside our University.

MULTI PURPOSE HALL: UGC-HRDC recently constructed a multipurpose Hall with the capacity of 150 seats. Fully furnished equipped with PA system and LCD projector. Apart from this there are 02 well furnished conference halls with the capacity of 40 each.


BEST PRACTICES: The institution has since its establishment focused on developing practices aimed at environmental conservation. Best practices include a well maintained rain water harvesting system, constant reuse and recycle at all levels, and a pollution free campus. Apart from this the development of an amphitheatre to foster creativity and a Summer-House Meditation retreat to inculcate spiritual health. Some Best practices are mentioned below:

Using MOOCs and OER for its participants in all our courses

Compulsory preparation of research project and its PPT presentation by the participants in all OP/RC/Summer School/Winter School. Through this exercise several participants received UGC Major/Minor Research Projects, Research Awards, etc. from different funding agencies including UGC and from other institutions/organisation.

Micro teaching with detailed feedback so that they can improve their pedagogical skills

Library visits with use of INFLIBNET

Promotion of computer literacy, computer application, multimedia, computer-aided learning, Internet and use of ICT in teaching and learning process with hands-on practice in its all programmes

Research Papers of several participants has been published in QUEST Research Journal of UGC-HRDC, Nainital

Strict insistence on quality in all academic assignments submitted by participants and these assignments are evaluated by experts who give individual feedback. Stress on capacity building for quality research, research writing and research ethics.

Close involvement of reaching staff of UGC-HRDC in all academic activity and supervision of all aspects of the participants.

REFORMS: The institution has kept pace with all reforms initiated by UGC as per its Guidelines for UGC-HRDCs, to ensure quality enhancement in all programmes.

OUTCOME PARAMETERS: Fulfill all outcome parameters laid down by UGC in its guidelines for UGC-HRDCs, and satisfactorily met the NAAC standards inspected by the NAAC Peer review team visit in March 2011.

FEEDBACK: To foster quality and maintain academic standards a comprehensive multi-

cornered feedback process is implemented.


From Participants, feedback of : Fears and Expectations, Resource Person Evaluation, Course Evaluation, Profile of Participants’ Research Activities, Participants’ E-Learning Assessment and Perception.

From Resource Persons, feedback of participants’ activities to maintain the academic vigour of a course.

Follow up feedback of programmes/courses impact is also obtained from participants and from their respective institutional and departmental heads through feedback form.

Ensuring quality of resource persons through process of grading of past performance. Evaluation of each resource person by participants through an evaluation sheet is done.

Evaluation and feedback of participants based on an assessment by the course team on the basis of their assignments. A system of multi-cornered feedback in order to know about the impact of various programmes undertaken so far.

Training Need Analysis is done on the basis of detailed questionnaire, filled up by respective participants.
