Twisted Vision Comics was founded in 1992 by then high school student Morgan Emrys of Oklahoma. After years of being frustrated by the vast majority of comics, from both major publishers and independent labels, being directed toward young males with unrealistically proportioned female characters and the insipidly sweet nature of the comics intended for young females with ridiculously proportioned cartoonish characters, Emrys sought out other girls with artistic and writing talent to create Twisted Vision’s first publication, Hell High. TVC stands apart from Im-age Graphics and Dark Horse Comics by appealing to the young adult female comic reader with strong independent female characters, high quality art work with realistic body images, and relevant strongly written story lines.

Currently TVC holds a 2% share of the overall comic market but through the use of modern social media sites, online merchandising, and the opportunities offered through the digital market in addition to new titles aimed at mature adult readers, we are looking to expand to 5% or greater of the overall market place within the next year. With the premier of Hell High as an animated series on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, with negotiations for animated versions of other titles such as Darkening Dreams and Grave Revenge, TVC is poised to take its place as a major production company.

Who we are at Twisted VisionThe Company Mandate

The question of who we are at Twisted Vision Comics, and why we’re even doing this, has a pretty simple answer.

We’re comic book fans that have been ignored. And we’re done with letting that happen.

We have out grown pastel colored talking animals and simplistic story lines. We don’t want characters with impossible proportions.

It’s time that women created comics for women.

With Twisted Vision, we intend to lead the way in more mature story lines and more realistic characters for the audience that the major publishers have either ignored or have viewed as being perpetually eight years old.

Twisted Vision’s Flagship TitleHell High

They aren’t human. They had no intention of becoming heroes. But if they plan on getting

out of high school alive they have no other choice.

Midori Youko. The child of a fire spirit and a human woman, she commands the very flames of Hell itself. She walks a fine line between the world of the Spirits and the world of Mortals.

Jacqueline Le Fay: The last member of the Grey Court, she must strike a balance between the warring Fairie or watch both her worlds burn

Ann Larabee: Whether or not she’s human is up for debate, what isn’t in question is that this destructive powerhouse will be at her friend’s backs until the very end.

With all the problems that come with being supernatural creatures, the really hard part might turn out to be getting a date to the prom.
