TUTORIAL: CREATING POSTS IN CANVA

Create an account or log in to get started…

to start a new post

You can choose an existing template or set custom dimensions.

More templates can be found using “Find Templates”

Give your post a name

Peruse layouts to find one that is line with your vision for the post. Be sure to select FREE layouts if you do not want a paid account. After selecting a template, you can

begin to edit and add elements

Edit or replace images – applying filters, cropping, sizing, etc.

Copy, arrange front to back, apply transparency, hyperlink and delete elements

Adjust fonts and font size, apply style, line and character spacing

Share your finished work directly to social media or download as png, jpg, pdf

Elements:• Free Photos: Search and add photos from large

database of royalty-free images

• Grids: Select various layouts

• Frames: Select frame styles and shapes

• Shapes: Add square boxes, circles, triangles and other shapes

• Lines: Add lines of various styles

• Illustrations: Search and add graphics and illustrations

• Icons: Search and add icons

Adding Elements

Text:• Create titles (heading)

• Creates subtitles (subheading)

• Add body or paragraph text

• Use style templates provided and modify

Backgrounds:• Set brand colors using Hex # with “document

colors”

• Select a default palette color

• Select pattern backgrounds

Adjust Background

Upload your own images, illustrations, and logo(s)

Bring in Your Own Graphics
