A lighter entry than last week with patchy quality of prime cattle forward. Best quality continue to sell to a similar trade to recent weeks. Top price per kilo was 186p for a Limousin x heifer from Messrs J. & G.A. Vokes of Lockengate purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd. of Perranwell Station. Top steer and top value was a Charolais x at 179p/kg (£1,167) from Messrs R.I. & M.A. Nicholls of St. Clement purchased by C.K. Richards & Co. of Grampound.

Not quite as many cull cows this week but what was on offer sold extremely well. Top value was £1,250 and top price at 150p/kg for a fine Limousin x beef cow from Messrs R., H.T. & R.M. Rowe of Gwinear, purchased by David King of Exeter. Top value Friesian was £1,145 for a big 896kg cow from Messrs B.L. Hearn & Partners of Wadebridge purchased by Dawn West Devon of Hatherleigh.

The heavyweight lambs were a slightly easier trade yet a strong pen of heavyweight Texels selling to £86 for 52.3kg lambs from Miss R. S. Frank of Chacewater and a pair of 59.5kg heavyweights selling to £85.50 for Mr A. Kemp of Tregony. Two pens of quality 42kg lambs from Messrs S. & S. A. J. Rickard of Devoran topped the averages, both selling at 188p/kg to J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station.

Matthews of St. Erme saw the best strong Suffolk sell to £92.50 with a Charollais selling for £82.50.
