Scout Leader Training
BackgroundThe purpose of adult training is to assure that all troop leaders understand their role and have the knowledge and tools to appropriately serve in that role while following all policies of the Boy Scouts of America. Erie Shores Council BSA provides a flowchart outlining recommended training at <http://www.toledobsa.com/docs/Flow%20Chart%20of%20Boy%20Scout%20Adult%20and%20Youth%20Training.pdf>
Today much required training is available on-line. The Boy Scout Scouts of America National Council provides on-line training resources at http://olc.scouting.org. To participate in on-line training you will be asked to register with an email address and password.
Required TrainingAdult Leaders must complete required training below before serving as leader for any troop meetings or events. A training certificate must be provided to the Secretary of the Troop Committee as evidence of course completion. Prior to completing this training they may not serve as a leader and can only be considered an observing parent or guest.
