    ue, July 7 Como Today, enjoy a full day visit to Lake Como by boatde and guided visit to a Villa on the Lake. Villa Melzi is a short walkom the center of Bellagio along a promenade lined with oleanderees. Although the villa itself is not open to visitors, there is a smallxhibition in the orangery, which contains some items from theapoleonic period, including the keys of the city of Milan, prints of

    Milan from the period, archaeological artefacts and two Renaissanceescoes. The main attraction is its botanic garden, containing rare andxotic plants. The garden is particularly noted for camellias, azaleasnd rhododendrons. Time at leisure in Bellagio. Return to Como fornner at a local restaurant and overnight. (B,D)

We continuethe Cathedral, the largest Gothic structure in Italy adorned with 135

    arble spires and over 2000 marble statues and gargoyles. It is trulyremarkable work of art, which took over 500 years to complete.djacent to the Cathedral is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, an early

    nd most elegant version of our modern day shopping mall. It is anxtravagant 19th century creation of Belle Epoque splendor covered

    stained glass. Visit Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper (subject tovailability). Return to Como and enjoy a farewell dinner on the lake.B,D)

    preserved Roman Amphitheaters anywhere. It is still used today forVerona's prestigious operas, performed in this classical setting.Continue through Verona's cobbled streets to the colorful Piazza delErbe, the former Roman Forum, lined with vegetable stands, cafes andrestaurants. Our tour concludes at Juliet's Balcony, perhaps one of themost romantic spots in the world. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.After lunch, stop at the winery Serego Alighieri, where the wine isproduced by descendants of the celebrated Italian poet Dante Alighieriin the Valpolicella region of Italy. The wines have attracted many fansand continue to be produced adhering to strict quality standards. Winetasting and grappa with local produce will be offered.     Fri, July 10 Venice Our walking tour of Venice begins in San Mark'sSquare, called the "living room" of Europe. Dominating the Square isthe Basilica of St. Mark, adorned with magnificent Byzantine Mosaics.Continue to the Doge's Palace, decorated by the 12th century artistsTitian, Tintoretto and Veronese. We'll walk across the "Bridge of Sighs",connected to Piombi Prison. One can still imagine the lamentation of prisoners, who walked across the bridge to their final sentencing,suspended between hope and terror. Our tour ends with a

    demonstration of the ancient craft of glass-blowing, practiced andperfected by the Venetians throughout the centuries. Enjoy some freetime for lunch on your own. This afternoon we will take an excursion tothe islands of Murano and Burano. Our first stop is Murano, the islandfamous for its glass-blowing, where we will visit the museum of glassand the beautiful S. Maria e Donato Church. Continue to Burano, apicturesque fishing village with colorful houses, known for its lace craft.Return to Venice and overnight. (B)
