When the 20th century gave way to the 21s,t our world for a short while became

a world of uncertainty. All types of predictions came into being. Everything

from our computers crashing, to our total electric grid failing, to nuclear missiles

launched on their own. Religious groups predicted everything from the end of

the world to the second coming of Christ. None of their catastrophic or world-

changing forecast came to pass. The new year of 2000 did come and go, and one

way or another 2018 will most likely come and go as well. As one day becomes

the next and one year becomes another, there are very few things that we can be

sure of. The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are from everlasting to everlasting,

and that we can count on. Even with a catastrophic or world changing turn of

events, we are still covered by the healing blood of Jesus. And the only thing

that we are called to do to gain this security is accept Jesus as our Lord.

However, I contend that we cannot just do that in word alone, but this must also

reflect in deed. We are told by God in 2 Cor 5:17 that “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he or she is a new creature: old things are

passed away; behold, all things become new. Are we truly new and are we

acting like it?” As I turn the page from 2017 to 2018, my prayer is “Dear heavenly Father,

Thank you for your consistent and contentious love and Amazing Grace. Thank

you for your ability to forgive my many transgressions and for covering me with

the saving and healing blood of your son, Jesus. Father, please fill me with Your

Holy Spirit and help me to become a new creature in Christ daily. Give me a

burden to always reflect Your word in all that I say and do. Please help me to

fearlessly enter the new year trusting that You will never leave me or forsake

me. Give me total confidence that I truly can do all things through Christ Jesus

who gives me strength. Father, encourage the presence of the new me to be

greater than the presence of the old me. Let the new me be a light into the world

from my heart. Make me a true representation of our Lord and savior. In Jesus

name, Amen.”

My friends remember the past so that you don't repeat it, but do not dwell there.

TREASURER’S REPORT (NOVEMBER 2017)

Music Ministry News As I write this article, it is almost Christmas Day. The season has been so full of activity, and yet it is

hard to believe that soon we will be taking down the decorations. We should all be proud of what we

accomplished this year. The cantata with full orchestra was wonderful. I hope each of you received a bless-

ing from the beautiful music. I am truly proud and feel so very blessed to be surrounded by so much talent

in our church family. The words "Thank You" are just not enough to say to those who assisted in making

our music program great this year. Every service has had something to offer, and Christmas Eve is yet to

come.

We added a different kind of service this year, "Blue Christmas.” This was a beautiful and moving service, and

although it was small, it gave each of us a time of reflection. The setting was personal, and the music was emotional,

but also uplifting. If you were not able to attend, you missed out on a very special time of togetherness. As we enter

the New Year, I hope we continue to have many special times together.

The music department will take a little break from practicing, and when we resume in January, consider joining us.

Whether you play an instrument, want to play handbells, or sing with the choir, we will find a place for you.

Once again, Albert and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May we all find peace and

love.

BREAD MINISTRY

By way of introduction, my name is Lia Rose Moore. I

have been given an opportunity to serve with you ladies.

I am so excited I was asked and accepted this fantastic

ministry. As a new member (1 year), when I walked into

Trinity, the bread was just another gift I received. The

warmth and love from each member were joyful. We as

a team are responsible to love, encourage and accept all

people. This is Trinity.

If for any reason you are unable to serve again, please let

me know at (843) 360-1107. I will take the 5th Sunday

as before. We will follow the same schedule as last year

or until I hear from you.

Thank you for serving. I am grateful to serve with such

a gracious team.

Sunday Nights from 5 pm - 6:30 pm, starting Jan. 7th

All elementary-aged kids are welcome!

Jesus tells us in John 8 that He is the light of the world! What a great feeling to know that no matter

where we are or what we are facing we always have His light to help us through it. We are never alone!

We hope that on Sunday nights children through lessons, crafts , music and games learn more about

their savior who loves them. We are all His light keepers!

(We will not be meeting January 14th due to the holiday weekend)

Trinity’s Youth program is starting back up for the year January 7th! All Middle and High School students are invited to join us. We are meeting Sunday nights from 5 pm until 6:30 pm. Our theme verse for the year is Colossians 1:10 which tells us if we live a

life pleasing to God we bear fruit and grow in knowledge of our creator! What an incredible goal to strive for. We will integrate music, scripture, prayer and plenty of

fun along the way also.

Mission Ministry News January 2018 LOVE Circle – ASAP would like to thank the ladies of the Love Circle for their generous support of ASAP.

Again this year they made and filled Christmas stockings (60 of them) for all of the ASAP veterans. We also

would like to thank the members of the congregation who donated items for the stockings. The veterans very

much appreciated this wonderful gift.

ASAP – Facts and figures – This year ASAP provided 576 boxes of food at a total cost of over $23,000.00. Through

Angel Tree we were able to give gifts to 24 children/grandchildren of our ASAP veterans. Love Circle donated 60

handmade stockings filled with goodies for the veterans. None of this would have happened without YOUR support.

Thank you for all you do to help us serve these veterans.

Peanut Butter & Jelly - ASAP needs both peanut butter and jelly. Please pick up a couple of jars and bring to

the church. Thanks for your help.

American Flags – If you have an old or tattered American flag that needs to be disposed of properly, you can drop it

off at the church. They will be taken to the VFW where they will be burned in a special ceremony.

Mobile Meals – If you have any questions about this program, please contact Bob Scudder at 843-602-2568.

Bob also needs volunteers. You would work four hours one day during the week that we are responsible for

delivery. Also, Mobile Meals is looking for drivers to drive 1 day every other week. If you can help, please

call Bob.

Prayer Shawl Knitters – Vivian has received a donation of yarn. If you would like some, contact Vivian at 843-655-

2088.

Angel Tree – I would like to thank all of those who bought gifts for the children on the Angel Tree AND all those who

delivered the gifts to the children served through our Prison Ministry. It was a massive undertaking this year, but with

the help of so many, it was a glorious witness to our God and a special Christmas gift to His Son. Love and Thanks,

Gerry

Pastor’s Prescription continued from page 1.

When the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, millions of people around the world will sing the words of

“Auld Lang Syne.”

“Should old acquaintance be forgot,

and never brought to mind ?

Should old acquaintance be forgot,

and days of Auld lang syne ?”

“Auld Lang syne” simply means "Days gone by.”

So as a wonderful cure for what ails you, "take a cup of kindness” for days gone by.

Then let go and let God in with full faith that comes when we know that our God is still in control. Then em-

brace the peace that is ours when we know that God’s grace is - truly sufficient enough for all.

“For auld lang syne, my dear,

for auld lang syne,

we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.”

Happy New Year to all and may God bless us with renewal and revival everyday of our lives.

Love and blessings, Rev. Ed and the Daniel Family.

Wow, another year under our belts. In many ways, the year just flew by…yet in other ways, it was extremely slow. I just wanted to drop a line to say how proud and thankful I am for Trinity UMC. More and more I am amazed by the ministry that comes out of our family. Just when you think that we have reached the top, God challenges us to do more and we respond. There never seems to be a dull day or moment around Trinity. As we move into 2018, may God continue to bless us all and use us to do His will! Happy New Year to All!!!

The Ritter family would like to express a sincere thank you to all of you for your kind gifts and well wishes over the Christmas season. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.

Numbers are important.

Every organization has a method of recording

contributions to their membership. Our method is done by

envelope numbers. What happens after you make your

contribution makes that number very important. With our

new contribution envelopes, you have been requested to

print your name on the envelope and write your number in

the space provided. There is space on the right-hand side

for you to tell the counters how much of your donation goes

to what fund in the church. When the counters receive your

contribution envelope they, are put in numerical order and

the contribution deposited in the bank. From there the

contribution envelopes go to our accountant who then

records your contributions. This allows us to send you a

statement for your use several times a year. Without that

number, it is difficult to track your contributions for your

contribution statement. Remember your

Number is important.

Haven’t had an opportunity to get your contribution

envelopes? Drop by the office and pick a box up along with

the new Trinity directory. They will also be distributed after

church on Sunday, January 7th. Also, if you haven’t had an

opportunity to make a pledge, they are still being accepted.

And if you are a snowbird and not tracking your

contributions at Trinity, stop by and get a directory for use

while you are here. We are delighted to have you.

From all of us who help count your contributions,

Happy New Year!

Janet & Cliff Sties want to thank

everyone for the wonderful cards

for their 70th anniversary. They

are so thankful for sharing their

day.

Thank You!

There are so many people who contribute to the

monthly newsletter, I wanted to say thank you!

Every piece of information that is in this letter had

to be written and given to me (by chairs,

volunteers and staff here at Trinity). I thank

everyone of you. Thank you for your emails, calls

and articles. Thank you for getting them to me so

that this wonderful letter can be proofed (a

volunteer) and folded and mailed (all volunteers).

You all make my job a joy, and I appreciate you all.

I am truly blessed.
