We are a nonprofit organization run by volunteers, dedicated to providing quality, amateur soccer. Kids can play in spring and fall seasons, in addition to summer events. Costs are kept as low as possible. Youth soccer coaches are always needed on a volunteer basis. A Lifetime of Learning Skills The focus of our organization is to teach children and teens the principles of soccer excellence, sportsmanship, athletic skills, team spirit, character, and social interaction. The ideals of enjoyment, fair play, fun, safety, integrity, and honesty are emphasized through age- and ability-appropriate competition. It's our firm belief that recreational soccer is for everyone! The focus is not on wining or losing, but on participation, growth, and teamwork.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

As a non-profit organization, run almost entirely by volunteers, Poway Youth Soccer League (PYSL) relies heavily on community support to help make our recreational and club programs the highest quality soccer experience possible for the youth of Poway and the surrounding communities.

With nearly 1200 children participating in the recreational programs, and almost 400 participating in the competitive Vaqueros soccer program, we strive to keep our registration fees as low as possible in order to make soccer available to all children (ages 5 to 18). We believe that every child should have the opportunity to play and develop skills that can help to build confidence, pride and a sense of accomplishment.

This year, we are continuing on a program that will focus attention on our sponsors. We are committed to establishing long-lasting relationships with our sponsors that prove to be beneficial to our young soccer players as well as to you and your business.

I would like to invite you to join with me in supporting our youth in this worthwhile activity. Please take just a moment to review the information in this pamphlet. We sincerely hope you will consider making a tax-deductible contribution to PYSL, and look forward to working with you as we begin another exciting season of soccer.

With gratitude,

Beatrice CubittPresident PYSL

Your Sponsorship Dollars At Work Recreational fees are used primarily to cover the cost of uniforms, field usage and maintenance, equipment, pictures, referees and CYSA-South registration fees. In addition to those expenses mentioned above, competitive soccer coaching fees are used to pay for a professional coaching staff.

These fees, which are our primary source of income, do not fully cover the costs involved in running a league as large as PYSL. We count on businesses such as yours to help us make up the shortfall. Without your support, we would be forced to cut back on some of the highly successful programs that have been implem-ented over the past few years. Among them, the 4 x 4 Spring Soccer Program, the Spring and Summer Soccer Camps, the Speed and Agility Clinics, Skills Clinics and Goalie clinics.

We offer a limited number of scholarships to children who might not otherwise be able to participate in our recreational or competitive programs due to economic hardships.

How Else Can You Help? Become involved by volunteering your time!

Once again, last year’s Fall Recreational Soccer Program had more children registered than ever before . Volunteer to be a recreat-ional coach. Coaching at the recreational level does not require any prior experience, only a desire to help and a willingness to learn about the game of soccer. PYSL provides coaching camps to volunteer coaches (about 8 hours of your time) and gives you the equipment you’ll need to get your team off to the right start.

If coaching isn’t for you, there are several other volunteer activities that are in need of

your help. Simply contact PYSL by visiting our website for more information
