“I’m a Rotterdam (The Netherlands) based illustrator. I’ve been running my own studio since 2006 and I think that one of the greatestpleasures in this life is finishing a cool, fresh, sexy, beautiful, awesome and crazy illustration. I’m also very proud of my website andwebshop www.denisevanleeuwen.com/shop!

What is so special to me about fashion illustration is that the artist can make unexpected choices of which body parts or shapes to showand which ones not to show. The artist can emphasize, as much as she or he likes, the most beautiful angles of the human body to makethe clothes look even more magical than in reality.”

“I love clowns, seashells, all kinds of dolls, foreign films, and, of course, The Shangri-La's. I was born under the sign of Gemini in the moun-tains of Virginia. After I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta, I moved to New York City where I have lived and worked for most of thepast 30 years. My work has appeared on soda cans, album sleeves, perfume bottles, Times Square billboards, broadcast television andmusic videos. In the later part of the 90s I art directed a popular line of t-shirts, and a book was published in conjunction with a show of mywork at the Parco Gallery in Tokyo entitled "I Heart Me." I love to draw people and I enjoy creating a character through their look.”

“I'm a Spanish artist, born in November 1969. I studied fine arts and graphic design and have always liked the work I've done, namely artand illustration and mainly in fashion. There have been times when I have focussed entirely on art and other times when I have combinedthis with illustration. In every eventuality I have always been motivated by my fascination for studying and portraying the human body andthe need to relate stories. I love reading and drawing and any other means of understanding more (or becoming more confused) abouthuman nature. As an illustrator I have worked for clients such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Vogue, The New Yorker, Harper Collins,Ann Taylor, and Rijksmuseum. As an artist I have been exhibiting my work since 1992 at Arco and in art galleries in Spain, England, the United States, etc. My most recentexhibition was at Arts Santa Mònica, in Barcelona. As to why I like working in fashion illustration… bearing in mind my love for illustration, isthat it allows me to make a living out of what I like doing best, drawing and telling stories. Fashion interests me too but only inasmuch asthis is another element which helps me to throw some light on people's personality and state of mind.”
