DYNAMIC DESIGN

The 1960’s hippie period gives inspiration to Dynamic Design. Bold combinations of color and loud statement pieces give this emerging trend great visual appeal and personality. Vibrant uses of color and geometric shapes and patterns are prevalent throughout this trend.

Colorful, geometric patterns will be seen in everything from artwork, home decor, food, and fashion. Inspiration comes from previous decades such as the 1960’s and resilient animals found in nature.

Fluidity is inspired by organic shapes and elements. Silhouettes will mimic water flowing with sheer, long, and luxurious fabrics. Furniture and home decor will also be strongly influenced by free flowing forms and natural components. Dark, earth tones make up the color palette.

Chiffon ruffles will be extremely prominent in the fluidity trend along with curved architecture and silhouettes inspired by ice caves and natural rocks.

Abstraction is inspired by the art of self-expression and the process of abstracting images through various art forms such as painting and collage. The thoughtful and asymmetrical use of shapes, content, and midtone colors is visually appealing and a modern way to design.

Abstract forms will encompass many different things such as architecture, home decor, fabric, and artwork. Color blocking will also be a prominent way to use color throughout this trend.

Whimsical details will be seen more in unconventional ways through the use of home decor and retail fixtures. Also outdoor living spaces will become more popular.
