• Cu: [Ar] 3d104s1…. but Cu2+ ion is [Ar]3d9
• Mn: [Ar] 3d54s2 …. but Mn2+ ion is [Ar]3d5

This ion is green..and produced by treating the hexaaquo ion with conc. Hydrochloric acid….this is a ligand exchange reaction…
