BROCHURE OBJECTIVE
Through this brochure, we intend to fortify our relations with our previous recruiters. We
appreciate their faith in the M.J.P Rohilkhand University(M.J.P.R.U),Bareilly. We would like
you to go through the brochure and have a cognizance of what M.J.P Rohilkhand
University(M.J.P.R.U),Bareilly stands for.
Also we intend to give our prospective recruiters a bird's eye view of the Rohilkhand University,
Bareilly family. Kindly go through the brochure to discover what moulds a fresh Entrant in
Rohilkhand University into a world leader and why this institute has attained a top niche in
Technological education.

About Us
M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was established in 1975 as an affiliating University. Its status was
upgraded to affiliating-cum-residential university in 1985 when four teaching Departments were
established in the campus. In 1987 three more Departments were added. In August 1997
Rohilkhand University was renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. The
existing faculties in the University are as under:

The University headquarter is located at Bareilly with its territorial jurisdiction extending over
the districts of Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnore, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Baduan, Pilibhit and
Shahjahanpur. The University campus spreads over 206 acre of Land. The Campus possesses
administrative building, faculty buildings, Central Library, Multipurpose hall, hostel for boys &
girls, Staff quarter for Vice Chancellor and another officers of the University, faculty members,
Non-teaching staff, Guest houses and Sports complex. It has also a medical center. The senior
faculty members of different disciplines in Humanities, Science and Technology are running
research projects funded by various agencies and so far 49 projects funded by UGC, AICTE,
DST, CST, ICAR, ICHR, MIF have been completed. Teachers of the Affiliated college are also
engaged in research projects funded by above agency.

The overall role of TPC is of a facilitator and counselor for
placement and training related activities. IET’s link with the
industry is umbilical. Some of the giants in industry have come
to realize the potentials of our gems. Wherever our graduates

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
(CSIT) DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science and
Information Technology, is situated in the building of
its own and occupying a space of 1860 sqm. There
are 4 class rooms/lecture halls besides 5 well
equipped laboratories. There are 14 faculty members,
out of whom
01 Professor, 03
Readers and 10 Lecturers. The Department offers B.Tech. and M.C.A
Programme , and the number of students intake is 60+30 every year. The
success rate at examinations 90% and 100% respectively and employment
rate 50% are fairly impressive in the present scenario. The main
achievements of last 12 years in it existence, have been paper
publications and paper presentations .The main objective of the
department is to produce good quality engineers/technocrats as well as good human beings. The department is
an integral part of Faculty of Engineering & Technology, which is an internal constituent of MJP
Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. Department have well qualified and vibrant faculty dedicated for the betterment
of the students.
ELECTRONICS AND
COMMUNICATION
DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electronics Communication
was established in 1995, is situated in the building
of its own and occupying a space of 1886 sqm.
There are 4 class rooms/lecture halls besides 5
well equipped laboratories. There are 11 faculty
members, out of whom 01 Reader and 10 Lecturers. The 16 vacant posts also exist. 11 Guest faculties and 03
Technical staffs also assist in the Department.
The Department offers B.Tech. (EC) and B.Tech. (EI) programmes, and the number of students intake is 120 every year. The success rate at examinations EC-87% and EI-90% and employment rate 50-60% are fairly impressive in the present scenario. The main achievements within a short span last 3 years in it existence, have been paper
publications and paper presentations.
The Electronics & Communication Engineering course provides
comprehensive knowledge of the subject through coverage of
relevant and contemporary issues.. The course structure is
dynamic and is reviewed periodically to strengthen existing
courses and introduce new ones in keeping with the
requirements of the environment. A variety of individual and
group learning projects that provide the
participants with exposure to real world instrumentation
issue.
ELECTRONICS AND
INSTRUMENTATION DEPARTMENT
Electronics and Instrumentation engineering involves
a broader and wider concept of intelligent
instruments, fuzzy logic, biomedical instrumentation,
cleaner technologies in environmental pollution
control. The course covers almost all basic,
conventional and emerging fields of instrumentation
technology. Presently, the building of Department of
Electronics and Instrumentation occupying a space of
2200 Sqm....The department is fully furnished with well-
equipped labs. In all, there are various labs namely Advanced Instrumentation Lab., Transducer Lab., Optical
Fiber Instrumentation Lab., Microprocessor lab., Microcontroller lab., basic Instrumentation lab., and Linear
Intergated Circuit Lab. and Analog/Digital Electronics Lab. Some of the
labs are under developing stage.
Apart from above labs, a lab namely Optoelectronics Research Lab.
has been established under financial assistance from DST, New
Delhi, UGC New Delhi and UP-CST Lucknow. One major and one
minor project from UGC, New Delhi and UP-CST Lucknow have been
successfully completed from this lab. Currently four research
projects from various funding agencies are going on in the
department.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
DEPARTMENT
The Department of Electrical Engineering was
established in 1996, is situated in the building
of its own and occupying a space of 2508
sqm. There are 4 class rooms/lecture halls
besides 4 well equipped laboratories. There
are 6 faculty members, out of whom 01
Professor and 05 Lecturers.. 05 Guest
faculties and 03 Technical staffs also assist in
the Department.
The Department offers B.Tech. and the number of students
intake is 60 every year. The success rate at examinations 90%
and employment rate 50- 60% are fairly impressive in the
present scenario.The thrust areas of the Department included
Power System and Power Electronics. The major focus of the
Department in teaching and research has been in the area of
Electric Machines, Power System, Power Electronics and Control
System. The Department has 16 Computers apart from well
equipped Lab. There is a plan of action to achieve the aims by
way of future plans like enhancing its laboratory facilities.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
DEPARTMENT
Engineering is a subject which gives artistry to human effort and Mechanical Engineering is a branch which plays efficient role in that. A Mechanical Engineer has to design develop, operate and maintain the equipments in an industry, be it any production unit viz an automobile manufacturing unit, a power or steel plant, hardware or software companies and even
the defence , nuclear space
establishment etc. The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1996, with the aim of providing quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology. The courses run by mechanical engineering department meet the needs of students and industry and their content and methodology also reviewed annually. Departments conduct technical debate, quiz, seminar to increase student in literary activities and personality development and also other extra-curricular activities. Some of the big names where our engineers are enjoying their extra-ordinary performance are Infosys, Wipro, Mahindra, L & T etc.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Department of Chemical Engineering, faculty of Engineering & Technology, was established in1998. Already nine batches have passed out and we are proud that most of our students have been recruited in multinational companies, R & D organizations, public sector and reputed teaching institutions in our country.
The department laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated equipments in all the labs namely Chemical Process Lab, Energy Lab , Fluid Mechanics And Particles Lab, Heat Transfer Lab, Mass Transfer Lab, Industrial Pollution Lab etc. . The curriculum has
accordingly been designed in consultation with reputed academicians of BHU Varanasi and IIT, Roorkee .The department is also equipped with state- of –art teaching materials including multimedia projectors OHP and other visual teaching aids. Department believes in “Sound Mind in Sound Body” conducting annual sports, yoga & meditation training programmes. All these activities in the department provide a training ground to enhance personality and communication skills of the students.
DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACY
The Bachelor of Pharmacy course was started in
MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. With a goal
to impart training in various aspects of drug
production, formulation, research and
administration, and various other aspects of drug
development. The department was started in the
year 1996 as a part of Engineering & Technology
to cater the long standing need of Pharmacy
education in Rohilkhand region. The course of Pharmacy is approved by various regulating bodies viz. All India
Council of Technical Education and Pharmacy Council of India. The Department has well developed
infrastructure, well equipped laboratories and dedicated
qualified faculty members. The main lab.includes
Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Microbiology and
Pharmaceutical etc. The laboratories are enriched with
sophisticated instruments like Disso- 2000, Rotary Tablet Press
D-S, UV Vis- Spectrophotometer, FTIR, HPLC etc. The alumni of
the department are well placed in various organizations. Some
are pursuing high studies from various reputed Institute in India
and abroad after qualifying GATE/ GRE & TOEFEL etc. exam. The
department is making progress at a satisfactory rate and expanding its horizons.
DEPARTMENT OF ALLIED SCIENCES
Department Of Chemistry-
The Department of Applied Chemistry under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, was established in
1995 with the start of B. Tech. courses to cater the demand of B. Tech. students pertaining to core chemistry
courses in I Year. Initially the department was established as a part of Basic Sciences for the B. Tech.
program as in every Engineering Institution. Based on these logical grounds the department started a PG
course namely M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry with specialization in Organic /Medicinal chemistry in the session
2004-05 after the approval of UGC and state Government. The department has well equipped laboratories and
lecture halls both from the point of view of teaching & research.
Department of Physics-
Beginning of Department of Applied Physics may be traced to 1995 with the establishment of the Institute of
Engineering & Technology (Faculty of Engg. & Technology) and start of B.Tech. courses in various branches.
Department started a post graduate course in M.Sc. in Applied Physics in 2004. The department is unique in the
entire Rohilkhand region in the sense that it provides M.Sc. degree with specialization in Material Science
introducing students to the striking fields of Material Science i.e. characterization of materials, crystal growth,
Advanced Solid State Physics and Nano-Technology. Department is in the process to develop some credible
research centers in the fields of computational physics and material simulation, macromolecular physics and high
energy physics.
Department Of Mathematics-
Department of Applied Mathematics is an important and integral part of Faculty of Engg. & Tech., situated inside
the campus of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (U.P.). Activities of the department concern basically with
maths. portion of B. Tech. and B. Pharm. Courses. Also, it deals with M.Sc. course in Applied maths and provides
adequate facilities for doing Ph.D. in Mathematics. All these are in tune with the standard norms of UGC, AICTE
and other concerned bodies. The department is equipped with modern facilities like computers linked with internet
and we are thus in close and quick contact of latest mathematical activities all around us.
Extra Curricular activities
M.J.P.R.U through Extra-Curricular activities helps students develop
soft skills outside the classrooms, with an intention of producing well
educated and skilled individuals who can empower our nation
SOMNIUM -This is the Annual Techno-Cultural Fest conducted by the
students of MJPRU. This is conducted in the first weekend of February
every year. SOMNIUM sees a huge participation of students from
colleges across the nation.
TECH-FEST: This is the Annual Technology Week
Conducted by the students of MJPRU . During this time many internal
competitions are conducted and the students compete among themselves in
various events.
CONVOCATION:
Convocation Ceremony 2012 of MJP Rohilkhand
University Bareilly was held on 20th Nov. 2012 in
University campus.Degree’s & Medals were distributed to
the toppers by respected B.L JOSHI Sir (Governer).
SPORTS:
Sports are a vital part of development for any
individual as they contribute to physical fitness,
drive for excellence and develop the team spirit and
leadership qualities. The students compete amongst
themselves in Inter Hall Sports Competitions and
other tournaments.

RU cricket cup is held every year in the university between the teams of different departments. this is a mesmerizing
combination of enthusiasm, emotions, victory ,passion & desire to win.It develops qualities like leadership, faith,
teamwork & spirit towards the game.
