To minimize erosion, stay on designated trails and do not cut switchbacks. 10. Keep off closed trails and closed areas. Observe and obey all posted signs and markings. 11. You must have sufficient physical dexterity, ability and knowledge to safely load, ride and unload lifts. If in doubt, ask the lift attendant. 12. Familiarize yourself with the trail systems and select rides within your ability level. When in doubt — WALK! KNOW THE CODE — BE SAFETY CONSCIOUS. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! If track is wet or icy you must increase the distance between carts due to longer braking distance. 6. You must not collide with the cart ahead of you. 7. Keep hands on both brake handles and arms and legs inside cart at all times. 8. Face direction of travel at all times. Never turn around, lie down, kneel or stand. 9. If ride stops you must remain in cart with your seatbelt fastened until ride starts again or you are instructed otherwise by staff. 10. If you are involved in or witness a collision or accident, you must remain at the unload area and identify yourself to attendant. KNOW THE CODE — BE SAFETY CONSCIOUS. DRONES The use of commercial drones is only permitted with the express written consent of Blue Mountain Resort. The use of any personal drones is strictly prohibited. THE SMART WAY TO START There’s no avoiding the inherent risks of mountain biking, but there are actions you can take as a rider to minimize the possibility of a crash or injury. Trails change due to a number of factors including weather and riding traffic. All riders, regardless of skill level or age, should employ the “Pre-Ride, Re-Ride, Free-Ride” mantra on every visit to the Bike Park. PRE-RIDE Start slowly and build your speed to learn the trail and identify the appropriate riding line RE-RIDE Familiarize yourself with the flow of the trail, and gradually begin building your speed as you become more comfortable FREE-RIDE Only once you’re warmed up, familiar with the trail and feeling comfortable NEW RIDERS If you’re new to the sport of downhill mountain biking, we suggest you start your ride on our beginner trail, The Groove. Move on to The Gulch only once you’re warmed up and feeling comfortable. We recommend all riders take a lesson on their first visit to the Bike Park. Visit Activity Central to learn more about our program options. EXPERIENCED RIDERS Like a cup of hot coffee in the morning, starting your day with a casual warm-up run on The Groove or Minion’s Rush is the right way to get your body and mind prepared for a day of riding.
