WHAT WE OFFER School Workshops: our outstanding cross-curricular school workshops bring learning to life with original and replica artefacts, role play and strong pupil involvement.
Outreach Workshops: bring the magic and wonder of Touchstones Rochdale to your school with our hands-on National Curriculum focused outreach workshops.
Loan Boxes: our very popular Loan Box Service is free to borrowers within the Rochdale Borough. Each box contains original and replica artefacts and is designed to support study topics including history, geography, art and local studies. They encourage learners to use all their senses and help pupils to develop the important skill of drawing conclusions based on an examination of evidence, together with an understanding of the limitations and reliability of evidence. Furthermore, they are ideal for generating group and class discussion.
Self-guided Visits: a superb, cost effective way for your class to access culture for free! Start your planning by downloading our exhibitions brochure from www.link4life.org/touchstones.
Arts Award Supporter: Touchstones Rochdale offers a wide range of activities and resources that can contribute to a young persons Arts Award. From workshops and curator talks to opportunities to see and review exhibitions and artefacts to inspire creative responses. Look out for the Arts Award Supporter logo throughout this programme.
Teacher CPDs: our fun and informative CPDs are delivered by field experts and will give you lots of cross-curricular activities to take back to the classroom.
If we want the next generation to understand the pivotal role that our cultural heritage has played in shaping the Britain we live in today then we need to inspire a love of art, design, music, drama and culture from the very first day of young persons education and keep it going throughout the rest of their life.
