TURN BOX TOPS INTO BUCKS!

To help raise extra funds for our school we have been participating in the Big G Box Tops for Education. Our school receives $.10 for every qualifying General Mills box top collected between now and March 1, 2017. A qualifying box top is the “Box Tops for Education” logo on any General Mills box. With your help we can turn box tops into extra money that will make a big difference for everyone at our school.

The PTO will be doing a Box Top contest where the classroom that brings in the most Box Tops will receive an ice cream party at the end of the semester! There will be collection bins and information for each classroom going out this week. Start saving your Box Tops!

Dear Toth Families,! On Thursday, November 3 Toth Elementary will be celebrating our nation’s veterans at our school! Students are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to school that day. Our festivities are planned to take place outside at 9:15 a.m., weather permitting, so please send a jacket. Veterans are invited in to our hour long school program at 9 a.m. for light refreshments before our celebration begins at the flag pole. This year’s highlights include our own Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts (in uniform!) to raise the flag. Sing a few patriotic songs, and a personalized Toth marching cadence!! Students have been asked to collect the names of veterans in their family (or those considered to be family) and write the information on a paper for future use. If known (and willing to share), I ask that you send in name, rank, branch, and dates of service. The final product will be completed during school time. ! Thank you!! Jennifer Beale, Toth Music Specialist! [email protected]

Pennies to Independence a Success! I would like to send a huge thank you to the entire Toth Family.  During the last two weeks of October students, parents, and staff members came together to fill classroom jugs with coins to support Assistance Dogs.  We were able to collect nearly $1800! While Mrs. Wood’s fourth grade class was the winner of the challenge, everyone involved was an important part of this generous endeavor. Because of Toth’s giving nature, more children and adults in our community will receive the gift of a service or therapy dog. These highly skilled canine partners will change lives and allow individuals to live more independently.   If you would like to know more about Assistance Dogs for Achieving Independence, which is a program of The Ability Center, you can visit the website, www.abilitycenter.org.  You can also contact me at [email protected].  We are always looking for foster, furlough, and puppy raiser families for the dogs in training. Once again, thank you so much!  Toth is such an amazing school because of all of you!

Mrs. Karen Bade
