M ax Beesley is a man of many parts - and not just in acting terms. Music buffs will know he is pals with Robbie Williams, a friendship that dates back to the days of Take That. While those who like their tabloid tattle will know he dated Mel B (aka Scary Spice) for several years and is currently stepping out with ex-Footballers' Wives star Susie Amy. But there are those who know Max best for his TV roles, most notably the title role in the 1997adaptation of Tom lones and, morerecently,as Dr Rob Lake in the fantastically dark hospitaldrama Bodies. This week, Max plays police officer Jake Bannerman in ITV1's two-part thriller Bloodlines, written by Mike Cullen (DoNovAn, The Vice). 'Bannerman is a young guy,' explains Max, 33. 'He's a very ambitious copper and he is desperate to make the detective grade: Are there any similarities? 'He's supposed to be extremely handsome..: laughs Max. The drama centres on a young, strong-willed policewoman Justine (Emma Pierson), who hasn't seen her father Hopkin (Kevin McNally), a former CID officer, since he was jailed for murder when she was just a child. Now he has been released from prison, and shortly after, someone close to Justine is killed, which is when she turns to her colleague Bannerman for help. Max is in a chirpy mood, and that could well be attributed to the success of Bodies, which recently aired on BBC2after a first run on BBC3.'It's brilliant to appear I .
