Topic: Compressing PowerPoint Files

Sometimes, PowerPoint files end up being too bloated to upload to a Dropbox or send in an email. This

is due to images, files, videos, and other files uploaded into the PowerPoint.

Compressing PowerPoints is easy to do, and shrinks your PowerPoints down without losing much

quality of the media in the presentation.

Compressing the File

Method 1:

To shrink PowerPoint files, select any image in the presentation, go to the Format tab, and select

Compress Pictures in the Adjust tab.

Once selected, a window will open. Deselect Apply only to this picture. This will compress all pictures.

Method 2:

Click Save As… in the File tab.

The Save As window will pop up. On the bottom right, there is a Tools drop-down menu. Click it, and

select Compress Pictures…

The same window will open just as the window in Method 1, only the Apply only to this picture option

is grayed out.

The same options are in the Method 1 image as well.

Click OK, and then save your PowerPoint.

NOTE: If your file is still large, repeat either Method 1 or Method 2 multiple times to shrink your file

even more.
