SCALE THE PICTURE

Zoom in or move further forward or back to remove bits in the picture that needed.

If there is something in the background distracting, have it moved out of the way.

LIGHTING

If you are taking the photo indoors, can you turn any lamps, lights or fairy lights on to lighten the room?

If not, use the flash.

If you are shooting outside, try and use natural light. Think about the shadows and where the sun is shining. How does the picture change when having the sun to the left or right?

Can you use cool shadows and shapes to make the subject stand out more?

ANGLES

Think about different angles and ways of seeing the picture to make it stand out.

Think about taking the picture from above or below (if possible) to make the subject more interesting

FOCUS POINT

Every picture needs a focus point; make sure when the photo is taken, the camera is aimed at what you want people to look at.

TAKING PICTURES OF PEOPLE

If people are in your photograph, think about the expressions on their faces in the final picture and how to get them to do this naturally. Get them to move around or dance. If you want them to smile. tell them a joke to make them laugh.
