Cleveland vs. milwaukeeTipoff: 7:30 pm, Friday, Jan. 21, 2011

The Cleveland Cavaliers will square off with the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time this season. In their first matchup on Nov. 24th, Mo Williams hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give the Cavs an 83-81 victory. Williams scored 21 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, including the team’s last eight points in the final 4:24 of the contest. Cleveland trails the all-time series 103-77 but has defeated Milwaukee six straight times at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs have also won eight of their last nine games against the Bucks dating back to the 2008-09 season and 12 of the last 13 contests against Milwaukee at The Q since 2004-05.

The Cavaliers rank third in the league in opponent offensive rebounds per game, giving up only 9.6 per game. J.J. Hickson has given the Cavs a strong presence inside as of late, averaging 15.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in the five games played from Jan. 7-15. Cavs rookie Manny Harris also stepped up his play during that span, averaging 14.6 points and 7.6 rebounds. After tonight, the Cavs will play in Chicago tomorrow for the first of their three-game road trip. The team will head out to New Jersey on Monday and wrap up their regular season series with Boston on Tuesday.

The Bucks are among the NBA’s best defensive teams, allowing just 93.1 points (3rd in NBA) and limiting opponents to 9.6 offensive rebounds per game. Andrew Bogut is leading the league in blocks (2.8), while also averaging a double-double on the season with 13.1 points and 11.7 rebounds. The Cavs and Bucks will meet two more times this season on March 9th and April 9th with both games being played at the Bradley Center.
