well! I’m here to help provide you with resources and answer any of

your questions as they come up!

This week was Eliminate Week and I hope that all of your advertising

and fundraising went well! Please update me on how your club sup-

ported the Eliminate Project and send me pictures! Our District Project

for the 2013-2014 Key Club year is to raise $24,000 for the Eliminate Pro-

ject. As a division my goal is to raise and contribute $5000. Among the

8 schools in our division and approximately 500 members, I know we

can accomplish this goal.

Lastly, I would like to invite all of you to our next Divisional Council

Meeting on May 24th! This will be a joint council meeting with Division

34 and 35 at Wapato Park from 1-2 pm! It is highly encouraged that

Key Clubbers attend! It will be a lot of fun, so invite all of your friends! I

hope to see you there!

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT

What is the ELIMINATE

Project?

The Eliminate Project is a joint project with

Kiwanis and UNICEF to internationally ter-

minate MNT.

What is MNT?

In 30 countries around the world, maternal

and neonatal tetanus (MNT) can quickly turn

the joy of childbirth into tragedy. MNT kills

one baby every nine minutes. Its effects are

excruciating– tiny newborns suffer repeated,

painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to

light and touch. There is little hope of surviv-

al. And tetanus kills mothers too.

Who suffers from mnt?

MNT is caused when tetanus spores, found

in soil everywhere, come into contact with

open cuts during childbirth. The disease

strikes the poorest of the poor, the geograph-

ically hard to reach and those without health

care.

$1.80 = enough to save a mother and

her newborn’s lives.

IMPORTANT

Announcements!

ELIMINATE week is this week! Discuss with your clubs about

how you will advocate and raise funds for the Eliminate Pro-

ject for the week of May 6-10! Think about making posters

and passing out flyers to build awareness in your school!

Our next DCM will be at Wapato Park! It is required that all

officers go and its highly encouraged that members attend

as well! Its going to be a lot of fun and hope to see all of

you there! This will be a joint DCM with Division 34. It will be

from 1-2 PM. We will have a potluck and possibly a BBQ, so

each club is responsible for bringing something for the

group! Such as cups, plates, drinks, etc!

We have formed a March of Dimes team with Div. 34! On

May 18th, come down and March for Babies. Start finding

sponsors now! For sponsor sheets and requests, please

email me at [email protected].

What service projects have you guys been up to!? Send me

pictures of your clubs events and members to be featured

in my next newsletters!

Do you like art?! I’m looking for Division 35 sweatshirt de-

signs! Submit your designs to [email protected]!
