DESCRIPTION

This thesis explores how different works of art reveal notions of time that have become scarce in modern societies. It does so through analysis of two pieces of music and a flm. The thesis draws on research from scholars who have examined the connections between the high speed society, its increasing use of energy and ecological crisis. In this way, the starting point of the analysis is what kind of temporalities artworks offer, how they can be described and how they may run counter to the problematic high speed temporalities of society.
