Term 4 Week 10 Wednesday 13 December 2017 Together We Grow GROWTH, RESPECT, OPPORTUNITY, WORTH Welcome to All Dear Parents/Guardians I would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful students and dedicated staff for their efforts this year at our school. We have had a productive and successful year and I have again appreciated the support from parents, carers and volunteers across the school. I hope everyone enjoys the opportunity to relax over the coming break. THANKYOU What a wonderful two weeks of celebrations had by all: Carol’s Night, Graduation and P&C Awards. A big THANK YOU to Mrs Christine Thomas for her organisation of the Carol’s Night. Thank you also to our students, staff, parent and community helpers, who without them, this event would not have been as successful as it was. Sausage Sizzles, decorations, carolling and dance made the night a wonderful success and a great community event. Thank you! Congratulations to our Year 6 students on their wonderful Graduation Assembly. Students, we are extremely proud of your achievements, perseverance and successes throughout 2017. Congratulations to all of our Graduating students and award winners from today’s ceremony. Congratulations also on your exceptional behaviour on the year 6 excursion yesterday. Graduating students, we all wish you the best in the new year ahead and hope that your time at high school is just as memorable as your time at Thornlie Primary School. Congratulations to our talented students who were recipients of much deserved P&C book awards at our last assembly. Students, you have worked hard throughout the year and we are all very proud of you! Thank you also to our P&C for their sponsorship of this event. SEMESTER 2 STUDENT REPORTS Semester 2 reports were sent home with students on Tuesday 12 December. Please take the time to sit with your child and discuss the report with them. STAFF FAREWELL I would like to acknowledge the excellent work and contribution that the following staff have made at our school. The 2017 Christmas Carols In the School showcased our recorder group, singing students from Rooms 1,2 3, junior choir, senior choir, senior hip hop group, not to mention the acrostic poetry talent from Room 4 and 6 demonstrated throughout the night. Thanks to all the amazing students, staff and helpers that made our Christmas Carols Night the best ever. This Award is designed to encourage students to be proud of themselves, proud of our school and to understand the responsibilities and rewards of community participation.

The Thornlie Dental Therapy Centre will be closed for the Christmas/December 2017 school holidays from Friday the 15/12/2017 to Friday 22/12/2017. COLLECTION OF STUDENT BELONGINGS

Thank you to parents who have paid their child’s School Charges and Voluntary Contributions for 2018. While the contributions are voluntary, the quality of our teaching and learning programs are maximised when each family makes their contribution. The voluntary contribution rate has been set by the school and School Board at $40.00 per student. The Schedule is available online at www.thornlieps.wa.edu.au Payments can be made in person: the School Office is open for payments Monday to Friday during the Term. Cash, EFTPOS and Cheques are accepted. Please ensure your child’s belongings have been collected from the classroom by the end of term as we are unable to store them over the holidays.
