Welcome to the ICO World Cup Birmingham,

England 2017.

This year’s event will be held in England’s second

biggest City to London – Birmingham.

Birmingham is a large vibrant City with an

International airport linked by great rail and road

networks.

The venue for the event is situated within a 10 min

drive by car or bus from Birmingham Airport.

There are a number of large Hotels situated in and

around Birmingham Airport that is neighboured with

our famous National Exhibition Centre or NEC.

Situated between the Airport and the Exhibition

centre is the International train station which will give

direct access to Grand Central, New St Station,

Birmingham City centre as well as regular trains to

London.

Situated at the NEC is RESORTS WORLD, a new

building consisting of Hotels, Casino, 10 screen

cinema, bars and restaurants, shopping mall etc.…

A short trip into the City centre (by train or bus) takes

you straight to the well known Bullring, Selfridges,

amazing restaurants in Brindley Place, the canal

networks and nightlife on Broad Street.

Great places of interest within 30 mins of the hotels

are Warwick Castle. Warwick Castle is a medieval

castle developed from an original built by William the

Conqueror in 1068. Warwick is the county town of

Warwickshire, England, situated on a bend of the

River Avon.

Next is Stratford upon Avon, Birthplace of William

Shakespeare. Stratford-upon-Avon, a medieval

market town in England’s West Midlands, is the 16th-

century birthplace of William Shakespeare. Possibly

the most famous writer in the English language,

Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays such

as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Hamlet’. The Royal

Shakespeare Company performs his plays in the Royal

Shakespeare Theatre and adjacent Swan Theatre on

the banks of the River Avon.

The main reason we will all come together in

Birmingham is for Martial Arts competition and we

will have Point fighting, Light Contact, Full Contact,

K1, Thai Boxing, MMA, Forms, Grappling, Ring

Continuous, K1 Continuous.

HOTELS FOR WORLD CUP 2017

ALL TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING THEIR

OWN HOTELS!!!

This will not be done by the organiser.

The closest hotels to the venue are situated in and

around the Airport and NEC complex and range from

2 * to 4 * and are all 10 mins from Venue by car or

bus, and all are 5 mins from Airport they are large

hotels with many rooms.

Here are some of the hotels

Hotel Ibis Budget 2* situated on site at Birmingham

Airport.

Premier Inn 3 * situated on site NEC.

GENTING HOTEL 4* situated on site RESORTS WORLD.

Holiday Inn Express 3* on site NEC.

AREDEN HOTEL 4* situated between Airport /

NEC.

HOLIDAY INN 4* situated close to Airport.

IBIS HOTEL 3* situated airport/NEC

TRAVELODGE 3* situated close to Airport.

There are more hotels but these are good and are

reasonable prices please book as early as possible as

they get very busy, you can google them to get the

best deals and more information if you stay in the City

it will take longer to get to the event, Solihull Town is

very close and has good Hotels and facilities but again

will take longer to venue than Airport and NEC Hotels.

accommodate 600 people.

Birmingham has more canals than Venice full of

nightlife, Sea life centre, Symphony hall etc…

Transport like mini bus or coach to and from the

venue to local hotels shown can be organised on

request from Team Leader/Coach/President and

booked in advance for larger teams.

ALL Hotels have a Taxi service!

We want to make this competition Pre Registration

only so we know how many competitors we have

attending the event and so we can start to create the

category draw sheets in good time.

Please use the Pre-Registration form provided and

make sure your registration is in before the closing

date of Oct 5th 2017. Please note there will be

penalties for missing this date!

Competitors

Price = 1st cat £50 sterling pounds

Any extra cat = £25 each one

Spectators/Followers = £10 per Individual day or £20

for all 3 days.

Team Points fight or Team Kata/Forms entry = £45 per

team.

If any teams need a Visa application invitation letter

then please let us know and we will arrange it for you.

All teams must have personal injury/Accident &

Liability cover for all of their team members!!!

All competitors must have a valid up to date sports

pass / Licence at weight check!!! And PASSPORTS!

All competitors must have a valid “FIT TO FIGHT”

medical form stamped and signed and not more than

12 months old!!!

All Full Contact, K1, MMA type competitors and

veterans and masters must have a “FIT TO FIGHT”

medical when they arrive for weight check at the

WC!!!

All competitors under 18yrs old must bring a parental

consent form to the WC!!!

ICO WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANY

INJURY OR DAMAGE TO ANYONE OR THEIR

BELONGINGS WHILST TRAVELLING TO AND FROM THE

WC 2017 AND DURING THE EVENT!!! WE MUST

STRESS THAT ALL MEASURES ARE BEING TAKEN CARE

OF REGARDING HEALTH AND SAFETY TO MAKE YOUR

STAY AS PLEASEANT AS POSSIBLE.

ALL COMPETITORS ENTER THIS CONTACT EVENT AT

THEIR OWN RISK!!!

All Team Representatives must provide a list of

National Team Coach, Officials, Referees and Judges.

With your help, we can then offer an international

flavour to the judging side by having a mix of national

referees.

Please ensure that your team has a National Team

Uniform and Fight wear displaying official logos.

You are representing your club, your country and your

association. We expect the ICO values and ethos to be

upheld by all competitors and spectators.

We are planning a grand opening ceremony so bring

your flags.

Please ensure that your team members have all the

correct Equipment to compete in all their disciplines.

Should you forget any equipment, then you will be

expected to purchase what you need on site. There

will be a SAP store selling top quality equipment.

WC 2017 T-shirts will also be on sale at the event.
