In his early years he was blessed with three roles in life — being a husband, father and patriot. He was called to stand and defend his country right out of high school. Mr. Trent answered the call gallantly serving in the Marine Corp for 23 years! Mr. Trent was a machinist and has worked on all manners of equipment including helicopters and Amtrak trains. One of his first tours of duty was in Okinawa, Japan. After having served five tours of duty, traveled half the country, visiting many international countries and countless acclaims, Mr. Trent enjoyed a second career in the Oregon School System. While Mr. Trent enjoyed serving his country, he had two other loves in his life. His wife of 52 years, Carolin Trent, and his four children: Paulanna, Anita, Allen and Donald. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time on the beach during his many trips to Hawaii with his wife. Family was and is still is very precious to him. Mr. Trent enjoyed panning for gold, participating in marathons and most of all raising his children with his lovely wife, Carolin. He now has not only his four adult children to further enjoy, but eight grandkids and three great-grandkids! Today he spends his days enjoying his early morning and late evening walks on the grounds of the community. He enjoys entertaining the ladies at the front desk, doing his crossword puzzles and watching cowboy and John Wayne movies. However, what Mr. Trent thoroughly enjoys is collecting coins for when his daughter, Paulanna stop by and whisks him off to the Louisiana casinos. RECAP: HOW WE STAYED CONNECTED THIS MONTH

remembering how people make you feelThe month of June has been a month of remembrance. We are taking the time to not only remember what people say to us, but how they make us feel. We here at The Hampton at Meadows Place are looking back on moments that have touched our hearts and minds in ways that will forever change us. This photo is of BOM Raunya Hollie decorating a birthday cake made by Dining Director Mable Crosby, donating their talents to help celebrate a resident’s birthday whose family was not able to do so with them on their birthday this year due to pandemic concerns. We will always remember the feelings of love and the warmth it gave to the team to help the family. We will forever be changed by their grateful and loving response.

THIS MONTH’S heart heroHOSPITALITY, EXCELLENCE, APPRECIATION, RESPECT, TEAMWORK

This month’s HEART Hero is MRS. MARICELA REYES. Maricela comes to the team by way of San Luis Potosi, Mexico which is the 11th largest city in Mexico. She has been here at The Hampton at Meadows Place for 11 years! She came to the community in May of 2009 and it has been a match made in heaven ever since. Maricela is the newly-promoted Housekeeping Supervisor here at The Hampton and has been doing a spectacular job in her new role.

Maricela is a hardworking, detail-oriented team player and a genuinely caring individual. She works well with staff in all Departments and loves caring for and visiting with the residents. Maricela’s coworkers enjoy when she is working; her pleasant demeanor and gentle spirit is infectious. Every resident welcomes her into their apartment not as the Housekeeper coming to do her job, but a family friend coming to visit. Coworkers regard her as a great example to follow and a friend always willing to help out and support.

While The Hampton residents and staff are extended family to Maricela, she does have her own family who loves her just as much if not more. Maricela is married to who she calls her sweetheart. They have been married for 31 beautiful years! From their love they were blessed with five beautiful and intelligent daughters: Yesenia, Rosio, Ruby, Daisy and Jaky. In addition she has also been blessed with three precious granddaughters who she spoils every chance she gets.

Maricela loves to travel. She has made trips to Tennessee to visit with one of her daughters and two granddaughters. She also really appreciates it when she has the opportunity to visit her childhood home. The chance to visit with her parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins back home is always a great excuse to throw a Fiesta! Maricela enjoys her favorite food (Mole) prepared by mom’s own hands. Her last visit was two years ago and she can’t wait to return so that she can once again eat, laugh and enjoy everyone’s company. Maricela you are a true HEART Hero! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the community and our team.
