Between shopping (and the spending that goes along with it), parties, baking and traveling—the most festive time of the year can also be the most dizzying. But there is another (cyber)stress factor that increases during the holiday season—personal data theft due to online shopping. Whether you are a Baby Boomer, a Gen Xer or a Millennial, as online shopping continues to rise 1 , cybercriminals are out in force this holiday season. Websites experience 22 ATTACKS PER DAY on average... ...that's more than 8,000 ATTACKS per year, per website eCommerce websites are 1.5 TIMESMORE LIKELY to be compromised than the average website AVG SITE ECOMMERCE SITE RISK OF COMPROMISE NEARLY 20% of respondents do not plan to shop online this holiday season. When all respondents were asked about the main reason that they do not shop online, 31% indicated that it was due to concern that their personal information would not be safe or could be stolen.
