The Government of Malaysia is certain that the defence and security industry will continue to invest in DSA participation, whether as exhibitor, visitor, delegate or speaker as very few other defence and security showcases in the region can match the DSA series of events.” The World of Defence Converges Full Support From DATO’ SRI NAJIB TUN RAZAK Prime Minister of Malaysia “The Development of the Malaysian defence industry is of economic and strategic importance to the country. It would prove difficult and inefficient for a nation to develop an industry without assistance and input from outside. The DSA series is a wonderful platform for Malaysian companies in the defence and security industry to showcase their products and capabilities to the global market. There are a good number of Malaysian companies exhibiting and I sincerely hope that DSA 2014 will provide a myriad of opportunities for all participants and visitors. I wish all of you every success in fulfilling your objectives during the DSA 2014 exhibition and conference.” DSA, one of the Top 5 Defence and Security Shows in the World is making an appearance once again from 14 - 17 April, 2014. This high profile national event is also the ASEAN region’s largest and longest running Defence & Security exhibition which will be hosting some 1,000 participating companies from 50 nations worldwide. Over 300 top government officials will be flown into the country as part of DSA VIP programme. Come April 2014 the whole country will be buzzing high on the forthcoming event which provides a pivotal platform for companies in the Defence and Security industry to meet and engage in business dealings whilst showcasing their products and expertise over a 4-day period.

DaTuk aBDul raHiM Bin Bakri Deputy Minister of Defence, Malaysia“Exhibition such as the DSA series allow vendors and customers to come together for mutual benefit and co-operation, to exchange views and insights into better processes and application of technology for the defence and security of national sovereignty.

With the increasing threat of terrorism, from which no nation appears to be immune, the role of our armed forces in ensuring national security has changed considerably. I urge all armed forces representative attending this exhibition, regardless of nationality, to take full advantage of this event to acquire what is needed for national security.

I expect DSA 2014 will provide as usual an excellent platform for defence and security players to promote their latest technology and services and for the discussion of defence and security-related topics. I expect that lasting partnerships will be forged this time as were during the previous exhibitions.”

DaTo’ Seri HiSHaMMuDin Tun HuSSeinMinister of Defence, Malaysia“The issue of national security has never been more crucial than it is today, whenthreats loom about more than ever before, in all kinds of forms. The advancement of science and technology has further spurred new forms of threats, including unconventional threats such as biological weaponry, cyber security threat and CBRNe devices. However, technology has also seen new innovations in the field of defence, which is especially why events such as DSA are even more important now than ever before.

Over the years, the DSA series of exhibitions has proven to be the ideal platform for players in the defence and security industry to promote their products, exchange ideas and opinions and forge partnerships based on synergistic and mutual co-operation. Given the growth of the event in past years, I truly believe DSA 2014 will prove to be bigger and better than preceding instalments of the exhibition.”

“On behalf of the Malaysian Government and the Malaysian Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), we are once again proud and honoured to host the latest instalment in the Defence Services Asia series of exhibition and conferences. It is no small measure of pride with which I say that the DSA series has

grown from strength to strength. In fact, DSA is one of the more anticipated exhibitions in the region.

When we started in 1988, we planned for this day; now that we have achieved our aim - that of making the DSA series a premier event in Asia andone of the world’s top 5 - we will not rest on our laurels but continue to take DSA to even greater heights.

With the strong synergy between the Malaysian Government and the event organiser, DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd, we look forwardto another successful collaboration for a spectacular and eventful DSA in 2014.”

General Tan Sri DaTo’ Sri (Dr.) zulkifeli Bin MoHD zinChief of Defence force Malaysia“In its 14th series, DSA will among others highlight the emergence if non-traditional security issues namely in the areas of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), and Battlefield Healthcare. Needless to mention that the expansion of the military’s responsibilities reflected on the Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW) realm will provide boundless opportunities to assimilate the experiences of key players and showcase the latest hardware within this domain. Both HADR and Battlefield Healthcare form crucial capacities within the competencies of Armed Forces worldwide today.

For that, I look forward to DSA 2014 and the opportunity to engage defence professionals and captains of the industry during this prestigious event. My best wishes are extended to all guests, visitors and participants of DSA 2014.”

Message From Message FromiG Tan Sri kHaliD aBu Bakarinspector General of Police Malaysia“With the ever-evolving security environment and changing nature of warfare demands, the DSA series is a necessity for the industry to ensure the accessibility of a sourcing arena for the latest defence-related and security technology, especially in this day and age when Cyber Security is an area of concern that needs to be urgently addressed. In this regard, I am pleased to know that Cyber Security has been chosen as the theme for Police and National Security feature at DSA 2014.

I have no doubt that DSA Exhibition & Conference Sdn Bhd will do another sterling job in organising DSA 2014 and I extend to them the appreciation of the Royal Malaysia Police.

On behalf of Royal Malaysia Police, I welcome all VIPs, delegates, exhibitors and visitors to DSA 2014, extending a special welcome to our peers in foreign police forces who will be participating.”
