Queen Victoria• Queen Victoria was born

in 1819 and she died in 1876 when she was still queen.

• In 1840 she married prince Albert and had nine children.

• She reined for 63 years 7 months and 2 days longer than any other British monarch.

• When she died she got burred in Frogmore.

• She was made queen of the UK and Ireland on the 20th of June 1837.

Victorian factories

• Children working in factories had no rights at all.

• A normal week for a child would be from Monday to Saturday 6AM to 8PM.

• Just because the children were small they got given the dirtiest jobs E.G. chimney sweeps, toilet maid or going under a machine while it was running to tie pieces of thread together .

• They where also regularly seriously injured or even killed during their jobs .

Victorian homes• Many rich children would

live in a large house with many rooms.

• Rich Victorians would have a nannie to look after the children cooks to make the food and servants to serve it.

• Poor Victorians often lived in 1 room . They had large family's so there would be people living in a small space with no plumbing or electricity.

• Vast overcrowding and unsanitary conditions turned into areas into slums most slums where in the east end of London.

Victorian schools

• In 1880 it was made a law that children between 5 and 10 had to go to school.

• There was anywhere between 70 to 80 pupils in one class together.

• There was mostly female teachers because the girls have to learn sewing witch the female teachers taught the girls how to sew.

• Some of their lessons where the 3rs witch were: arithmetic, reading and writing they are called the 3rs because they all have r in.

Victorian inventions

• In 1851 ice cream was invented and later on in the Victorian era it becomes a popular snack.

• The first official photograph was taken in the 1830s it was a beautiful picture of queen Victoria and some of her children.

• One of the greatest inventions was the telephone that was invented by Alexander Bell.

• In 1859 the post box arrived and it was green.

Victorian toys and games

• Toys where very expensive in the Victorian times even wealthy children had very few toys.

• The wealthiest children had a rocking horse with real horses mane.

• The poor children had a piece of string to use as a skipping rope.

• They used to play with E.G. marbles, hoop and stick, spinning tops, yoyo, quoits and toy theatres if they where lucky enough.
