The things I’ve learned about today clinical: Sometimes, I doubted the Doctors, because I felt like sometimes they do not know what they are doing. However, today I am touched by the condition of a 3 year old and learning to put everything into perspective. Not every condition is known. Not every illness is well understood. In order to treat a disease a person must recognize the signs and symptoms that they present. Sometimes, there are symptoms shown but they are inadequate to conclude the diagnosis a nurse or a doctor wanted to treat. That is when checks, tests, and diagnostics are so essential, though they can be cruel depending on how many checks they need. Today, a little 3 year old girl received a multiple poke to obtain her blood. Because of the expense in healthcare cost, doctors do not order everything when the first blood is drawn. Therefore, as they want to get something done, then there also a requirement for sample, which in this case, the poking. It sad to see, but this is how the system function. Sometimes, one wonders whether is it worth to do all the checks, tests, and diagnose when the first sample is drawn considering the uniqueness of an individual. Anyways, what I want to write today is about the knowledge of recognition and the vase knowledge that a doctor has to help treat a disease. I love how the healthcare team work together in order to find out the problem. The collaboration is outstanding. Though again there are various corners of suggestions that each team player think should be the right action. It is incredible to observe because all these actions are formed to help and enable the treatment for the patients. Anyways, it was really cool to learn about thromboendopenia and hemolytic uremic syndrome.
