God is the Lord, and He revealed Himselfto us. Blessed is he who comes in the name ofthe Lord. [SAAS]

Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνοµα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ.

Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and callupon His holy name.

ἤ· Ἐξοµολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ, ὅτι ἀγαθός,ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ.

or: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; forHis mercy endures forever.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, butin the name of the Lord I defended myself againstthem.

Let the heavens sing for joy, and leteverything on earth be glad. For withHis Arm the Lord has worked power. Hetrampled death under foot by means of death;and He became the firstborn from the dead.From the maw of Hades He delivered us; andHe granted the world His great mercy. [SD]

O Bethlehem, prepare, Eden is openedunto all. * And be ready, Ephrata, for the Treeof life * has in the grotto blossomed forth fromthe Virgin. * Indeed her womb is shown to bespiritually * a Paradise, in which is found theGod-planted Tree. * And if we eat from it weshall live, and shall not die, as did Adam ofold. * Christ is born, so that He might raise up* the formerly fallen image. ΙΕΡΕΥΣ PRIESTἜτι καὶ ἔτι ἐν εἰρήνῃ τοῦ Κυρίου

δεηθῶµεν.Again and again, in peace, let us pray to

the Lord.

Ἀντιλαβοῦ, σῶσον, ἐλέησον καὶδιαφύλαξον ἡµᾶς ὁ Θεὸς τῇ σῇ χάριτι.

Help us, save us, have mercy on us, andprotect us, O God, by Your grace.


Τῆς Παναγίας ἀχράντου,ὑπερευλογηµένης, ἐνδόξου Δεσποίνηςἡµῶν Θεοτόκου καὶ ἀειπαρθένου Μαρίαςµετὰ πάντων τῶν Ἁγίων µνηµονεύσαντες,ἑαυτοὺς καὶ ἀλλήλους καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ζωὴνἡµῶν Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ παραθώµεθα.

Commemorating our most holy, pure,blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokosand ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, letus commend ourselves and one another andour whole life to Christ our God.

Χριστὸς ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγήγερται, ἡ ἀπαρχὴτῶν κεκοιµηµένων. Ὁ Πρωτότοκος τῆςκτίσεως, καὶ Δηµιουργὸς πάντων τῶνγεγονότων, τὴν καταφθαρεῖσαν φύσιντοῦ γένους ἡµῶν, ἐν ἑαυτῷ ἀνεκαίνισεν.Οὐκ ἔτι θάνατε κυριεύεις· ὁ γὰρ τῶν ὅλωνΔεσπότης, τὸ κράτος σου κατέλυσε.

Christ has risen from the dead, the firstof those who have fallen asleep. The Artificerof all things that were made was first bornbefore all creation; now He has renewedthe corrupted nature of our human racein himself. O Death, you no longer havedominion, for the Master of all has destroyedyour power. [SD]

When You had physically tasted death,O Lord, You curtailed its bitterness by Yourresurrection, and You strengthened humanityagainst it, by reversing the failure related tothe primal curse, O Defender of our life. Gloryto You, O Lord. [SD]

At Your Divinity's immutability, * andat Your suffering's intentionality, * amazedwas Hades, Lord, and thus lamented to itselfand said: * I tremble at this human frame'suncorrupted hypostasis. * I see the invisibleOne waging war on me secretly. * Hence

We the believers now theologize about* the inexplicable, incomprehensible *unspoken mystery of Your crucifixion andresurrection. * For today the realm of deathand of Hades has been despoiled, * and vestedis the human race with incorruptibility. * Andtherefore in thanksgiving we cry aloud: *Glory to Your resurrection, O Christ. [SD]

The army of the Angels appearingsilenced * the song of shepherds pipes. Andthe Angel uttered, * Stop in the field abiding,* O you the governors of animals. * Cry out inexaltation, * for Christ the Lord has been borntoday. * It is His will to save the human race, *as God, in His good pleasure. [SD]

Εὐλογητάρια Ἀναστάσιµα. Resurrectional Evlogetaria.Ἦχος πλ. αʹ. Mode pl. 1.

Εὐλογητὸς εἶ, Κύριε, δίδαξόν µε τὰδικαιώµατά σου.

Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Yourstatutes.

Τῶν Ἀγγέλων ὁ δῆµος, κατεπλάγη ὁρῶνσε, ἐν νεκροῖς λογισθέντα, τοῦ θανάτουδὲ Σωτήρ, τὴν ἰσχὺν καθελόντα, καὶ σὺνἑαυτῷ τὸν Ἀδὰµ ἐγείραντα, καὶ ἐξ ᾍδουπάντας ἐλευθερώσαντα.

When the hosts of the Angels saw howYou were accounted among the dead, theyall marveled. You, O Savior, are the One whodestroyed the might of death; and when Youarose You raised Adam with yourself andfrom Hades liberated everyone. [SD]



Τί τὰ µύρα, συµπαθῶς τοῖς δάκρυσιν,ὦ Μαθήτριαι κιρνᾶτε; ὁ ἀστράπτων ἐντῷ τάφῳ Ἄγγελος, προσεφθέγγετο ταῖς

"Why do you mingle the ointments withyour tears full of pity, O women disciples?"Thus the Angel who was shining in the tomb

Μυροφόροις· Ἴδετε ὑµεῖς τὸν τάφονκαὶ ᾔσθητε· ὁ Σωτὴρ γὰρ ἐξανέστη τοῦµνήµατος.

cried to the myrrh-bearing women. "See foryourselves the empty tomb and understand,that the Savior has risen from the sepulcher."[SD]



Λίαν πρωΐ, Μυροφόροι ἔδραµον,πρὸς τὸ µνῆµά σου θρηνολογοῦσαι· ἀλλ'ἐπέστη, πρὸς αὐτὰς ὁ Ἄγγελος, καὶ εἶπε·θρήνου ὁ καιρὸς πέπαυται, µὴ κλαίετε, τὴνἈνάστασιν δέ, Ἀποστόλοις εἴπατε.

Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomblamenting. But the Angel appeared to themand uttered, "The time for lamentation hasended; weep no more. Go announce theResurrection to the Apostles." [SD]



Μυροφόροι γυναῖκες, µετὰ µύρωνἐλθοῦσαι, πρὸς τὸ µνῆµά σου, Σῶτερἐνηχοῦντο. Ἀγγέλου τρανῶς, πρὸς αὐτὰςφθεγγοµένου· Τί µετὰ νεκρῶν, τὸν ζώνταλογίζεσθε; ὡς Θεὸς γάρ, ἐξανέστη τοῦµνήµατος.

When the myrrh-bearing women hadcome with their spices to Your sepulcher,O Savior, they heard the voice of an Angelclearly speaking to them, "Why do youaccount among the dead the One who lives?For as God, He has risen from the sepulcher."[SD]

We bow down in worship to the Fatherand His Son and the Holy Spirit, the HolyTrinity, one in essence; and we cry aloud withthe Seraphim: Holy, Holy, Holy are You, OLord. [SD]

Καὶ νῦν. Both now.Ζωοδότην τεκοῦσα, ἐλυτρώσω Παρθένε,

Giving birth to the Giver of life, O Virgin,you delivered Adam from sin, and to Eve youhave rendered joy in place of sorrow. He whofrom you became incarnate, God and man,has directed to life him who fell from it. [SD]

Ὑπακοή. Ἦχος γʹ. Hypakoe. Mode 3.Ἐκπλήττων τῇ ὁράσει, δροσίζων

τοῖς ῥήµασιν, ὁ ἀστράπτων Ἄγγελος,ταῖς µυροφόροις ἔλεγε· Τὸν ζῶντα τίζητεῖτε ἐν µνήµατι; ἡγέρθη κενώσας τὰµνήµατα τῆς φθορᾶς ἀλλοιωτήν, γνῶτε τὸνἀναλλοίωτον, εἴπατε τῷ Θεῷ· Ὡς φοβερὰτὰ ἔργα σου! ὅτι τὸ γένος ἔσωσας τῶνἀνθρώπων.

Astounding in appearance, refreshing bythe words he spoke, the flashing Angel saidto the myrrh-bearing women: Why do youlook in a tomb for the Living One? He is risenand has emptied the tombs. Know Him, theunchanging Changer of corruption. Say toGod: How awesome are Your works! For Youhave saved the human race. [SD]

You rescued the captivity of Zion out ofBabylon, O Logos; do also draw me up fromthe passions to life. [SD]

Ἐν τῷ Νότῳ οἱ σπείροντες δάκρυσινἐνθέοις, θεριοῦσι στάχυας, ἐν χαρᾷἀειζωΐας.

Those who sow shedding godly tearswhen the south wind is blowing, joyously willharvest ears of life everlasting. [SD]

Πατρὶ καὶ Υἱῷ συναστράπτει, ἐν ᾧ τὰ πάνταζῇ καὶ κινεῖται.

In the Holy Spirit, as in the Father andthe Son, radiates intrinsically every gift ofgoodness. And in Him all things both live andmove. [SD]

Ἀντίφωνον Βʹ. Antiphon II.Ἐὰν µὴ Κύριος οἰκοδοµήσῃ οἶκον τῶν

ἀρετῶν, µάτην κοπιῶµεν, τὴν δὲ ψυχὴνσκέποντος, οὐδεὶς ἡµῶν πορθεῖται τὴνπόλιν.

Unless the Lord build the house of thevirtues, in vain do we labor. But if He protectthe soul, no one can conquer our city. [SD]

Τοῦ καρποῦ τῆς γαστρός, τῷ Πνεύµατιυἱοποιητῶς σοι τῷ Χριστῷ, ὡς Πατρὶ οἱἍγιοι πάντοτε εἰσί.

O Christ the Fruit of the womb, by theSpirit are the saints forever as adopted sons toYou as to a father. [SD]

Δόξα· καὶ νῦν. Glory. Both now.Ἁγίῳ Πνεύµατι, ἐνθεωρεῖται πᾶσα

ἁγιότης σοφία· οὐσιοῖ πᾶσαν γὰρ κτίσιν·αὐτῷ λατρεύσωµεν· Θεὸς γάρ, ὡς Πατρί τεκαὶ Λόγῳ.

In the Holy Spirit are perceived allholiness and wisdom, for He gives substanceto all creation. Since He is God, let us worshipHim, as we do the Father and Logos. [SD]

τρίβους βαδιοῦνται, τῶν ἐντολῶν φάγονται·ζωηρὰν γὰρ παγκαρπίαν.

The Servants nurtured piously together,* with contempt regarding the impiousking's decree, * intrepidly faced the threat ofholocaust, * and while standing in the midstof flames they chanted thus, * saying: O Godof the fathers, You are blessed. [SD]

Against You only have I sinned and doneevil in Your sight; that You may be justifiedin Your words, and overcome when You arejudged.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit.

O Lord, You shall open my lips, and mymouth will declare Your praise.

Ὅτι εἰ ἠθέλησας θυσίαν, ἔδωκα ἄν·ὁλοκαυτώµατα οὐκ εὐδοκήσεις.

For if You desired sacrifice, I would giveit; You will not be pleased with whole burntofferings.

Θυσία τῷ Θεῷ πνεῦµα συντετριµµένον,καρδίαν συντετριµµένην καὶτεταπεινωµένην ὁ Θεὸς οὐκ ἐξουδενώσει.

A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, abroken and humbled heart God will notdespise.

Ἀγάθυνον, Κύριε, ἐν τῇ εὐδοκίᾳ σουτὴν Σιών, καὶ οἰκοδοµηθήτω τὰ τείχηἸερουσαλήµ.

Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasureto Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem bebuilt.

Τότε εὐδοκήσεις θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης,ἀναφορὰν καὶ ὁλοκαυτώµατα.

Then You will be pleased with a sacrificeof righteousness, with offerings and wholeburnt offerings.
