I walk the river

My hairhas grown

longmy beard

a nest forsparrows

I gatherfeathers

fallen frombirds in flight

arrangesticks

and stonesriver mud

and leavesinto an effigy

dress itin my shirt

and pantsput prayers

I have writtenyou

where myheart would

be.
