    The promise of a returnI Thessalonians 4:13-18

    Introduction: Have you ever had someone make a promise and break it? Have youever made a promise and broken it to someone? I believe all of us can say yes toboth of these uestions! "ell #od doesn$t break promises% He &ill keep them assure as eternity is eternity #od is as 'ood as His &ord! If &e can a'ree on that &hythen do &e spend so much time in &orry and doubt? "e seem to &orry about nokno&in' #ods plans then if &e 'et a 'limpse of them &e &orry about ho& our livesfall into them! "e are not the first people &ho have dealt &ith this% the folks ofThessalonica dealt &ith it lon' before you and I considered it! Thankfully the (postle)aul ans&ered their fear and doubt and the *ord left that ans&er for you and I 'ainsome encoura'ement from! I reali+e every believer kno&s that ,esus &ill return forHis church and rapture it a&ay and that &e cannot kno& &hen this &ill take place!

    There are some thin's &e can kno& and )aul 'ives them to us three thin's thatshould 'ive us peace% comfort and contentment about the a'e &e live in and thepromise of a bri'hter tomorro&! Today I &ant us to look at the three promises the*ord made concernin' His promise to return! irst &e have.

    I. The promise of knowledge V.13

     A. Drives away ignorance

    B. Soothes away fear 

    II. The promise of eternal life V.v. 14-15

     A. The Promise of life to those who have believed 

    B. The Promise of life to those who do believe

    III.The promise of a rapture V.v. 1-1!

     A. Is personal with Christ 

    B. Is personal for the believer

To better understand this 0oman$s 1:2-1 tells us That if thou shalt confess &ith thy mouth the *ord ,esus% and shaltbelieve in thine heart that #od hath raised him from the dead% thou shalt besaved! or &ith the heart man believeth unto ri'hteousness and &ith the mouthconfession is made unto salvation!5 6onfess our sin accordin' to (ct 3:120epent ye therefore% and be converted% that your sins may be blotted out% &henthe times of refreshin' shall come from the presence of the *ord5 7o you &ant tobe in the number of those &ho are raptured &hen ,esus comes for His church?ou can be and you can kno& beyond the shado& of a doubt that you are savedand 'oin' to be &ith the *ord 1,n 9:91 tells us I have not &ritten unto youbecause ye kno& not the truth% but because ye kno& it% and that no lie is of the

    truth!5 If you kno& you are saved today then reoice and look up because yourredemption dra&s ni'h% if you don$t kno&% don$t leave here today &ithout makin'sure! 6lose as the Holy ;pirit leads!
