Safety systems play a key role in critical applications to protect life, the environment and property. Detecting

smoke and sounding an alarm is easy under optimal conditions. On the other hand, ensuring detection and

taking preventive actions in case of a fire or gas leak in under all conditions is a much bigger task.

MAXIMUM SAFETY WITH SIL 2

We have made it our mission to innovate total system redundancy, completely reliable, even if an external event has affected the core parts of the system. Innovation is always driven by the urge to solve intricate problems and to make something better. We have that urge, and we strive to invent maximum safety. By implementing redundancy throughout the system from loop communication up to top level communication, we provide maximum safety.

Hardware has built in redundancy and with Dual Safety functionality we have redundancy on a system level. Dual Safety adds a “Hot-Standby” functionality that increases the availability and fault tolerance of the total system and availability of the loop units. Dual Safety can also be configured to switch over all loops in case of one single fault, making the system Dual CPU, with the extra advantage of ability to segregate locations. And of course, our systems and solutions have Safety Integrity Level 2.

Our systems add safety features from loop level to top level. We make sure that any developing fire or gas leak shall be detected, processed and adequate alarms are given under the roughest of conditions.

UPGRADE TO AUTROSAFE 4Since 1957 we have been a leading innovator of fire and gas systems. All systems require care and attention

throughout their lifecycle, even our old hero the BS-100 and our previous AutroSafe 3 fire and gas detection

system. But due to market developments we are no longer able to give these systems the care and attention

they deserve.

The BS-100 and AutroSafe 3 are no longer manufactured, and related spare parts and field equipment will no longer be available.

Our primary goal is an upgrade requiring the least amount of downtime and cost for the customer. This is why we have put a lot of engineering into developing options that will make the transition as effortless as possible. Regulations require that at least the equal means of protection and reliability are maintained. Autronica require more. We provide an upgrade path all the way to SIL 2 certification by also replacing the loop.

Some situations requires only the best, and we know that. Situations with absolutely no room for error. We are

driven by our own desire to create the safest systems possible. Even so, things outside and above our systems

still might occur, but that does not change our goal.

DUAL CPU

Our systems shall still function, because we require them to do, in order to protect lives, the environment and property. The system shall never lose an incident. Our customers conduct safety calculations and HAZOP’s in order to locate their need for redundancy in safety critical components. We often find requirements for dual processors in project specifications. One additional processor is required as “hot standby”, ready to take over in case the primary processor fails. Without this redundancy, there is a risk of reduced detection result-ing in expensive firewatch, and worst case site shut-down.

We challenge ourselves to make our solutions resistant to failure if a system panel is out of operation. We believe it is not enough to have two processors on a motherboard, or have two motherboards. We also add system panel redundancy to our requirements list. This provides the ability to segregate location of the panels, avoiding single point of failure.

Based on the high requirements we set for ourselves, our engineers desire to develop maximum safety. By handing over control of all loops to a standby panel without the loss of any incident, we have taken our SIL 2 approved AutroSafe and Dual Safety systems one step further. Connected top systems will only see a warning indicating the cause of the switchover. The solution also provides easier maintenance. A replaced standby panel receives loop information from the primary panel, eliminating system downtime due to restart.

Redundant systems remove critical single point of failure


Our mission is to ensure maximum safety gas detection all around the world. From a foggy North Sea oil plat-

form in constant motion to placements next to highly-used railways or in the harsh conditions in the Arctic.

LINE-OF-SIGHT GAS DETECTOR

After years of research, development and extensive testing, we present a new infrared line-of sight gas detector which will set a new standard for line-of-sight gas detection. The new generation is designed to fully meet the real-life operating conditions in the most challenging places and conditions. It has an optics field-of-view with a 60 percent improvement over previous leading technology, creating a more tolerant and faster alignment process. It performs better in harsh conditions, has enhanced vibration tolerance, and has simplified installation and alignment tasks.

The detector is third-party verified to function in a temperature range of -55 to +75 degrees Celsius, and it provides an upgraded, long-lasting infrared source, with a 10-year warranty. In addition, the detector has a power consumption management feature and highly visible LEDs. The diagnostic features significantly reduce the time and effort needed to identify fault conditions

The AutroPath HC600LS Gas Detector sets the new standard of gas detection



We understand why regulations require periodic maintenance to ensure a functioning system. Still, regula-

tions only state the minimum, but we require much more of ourselves. We know that work and improvements

happen regularly in an installation, disablements due to daily maintenance, and troubleshooting have to be

easy and intuitive for the user. And monitoring an integrated fire and gas system has to be possible from dif-

ferent locations, both inside the installation, but also remotely off-site.

DAILY MAINTENANCE DASHBOARD

With the AutroMaster graphical presentation system as an integrated part of the fire and gas system, we are able to provide a daily maintenance dashboard. The dashboard will give both maintenance crew and supervisors a graphical and intuitive presentation of the installed fire and gas system. Inhibiting detectors for work permits and troubleshooting made easy.

With a remote access solution the maintenance dashboard can be reached from any location allowed by the site owner.

TRAINING CENTER SUPPORT

We put our pride in designing systems with the ability to fit into any scenario, and we know that adapting cause and effect according to technical safety specifications can be quite complex. Verifying the systems configuration, and ensuring correct actions in critical events is crucial. But we also know, when time matters, the operators on site must be able to take correct and necessary actions without hesitations. Therefore, our mission also includes providing necessary solutions to train and verify operating personnel and

staff.

By combining AutroSafe IFG detection system and AutroMaster graphical presentation system with a simulator, we can create training centers for emergency personnel with using different drill scenarios. By simulating various behaviors of loop units in a system like alarm, pre-alarm, disablement, change of class and faults, verification of the systems cause and effect behavior is made easy. With such a simulator we eliminate the need for all the physical loop units during a factory acceptance test, as well as making it easy to verify correct action in a situation. We simply simulate everything.

unit to make it possible to use our wide range of advanced smoke detectors for early detection of smoke and

combustion products in ventilation ducts in the most challenging environments, such as oil platforms in the
