The auxiliary verb we use to form the perfect tense is usually AVOIR

But, some verbs take ETRE as an auxiliary verb in the perfect tense.

The tricky thing will be to know which ones they are

Most of the time they follow the general rule for ER verbs, IR verbs and RE verbs.

There are a few exceptions: mourirmort, naître né, venir venu
