Each and every character was seen very badly trapped in the web of corruption and instead of escaping from the web; they were interested in trapping others. Every single character was so familiar that the audience must have thought that I have seen him or her in my real life; if not all at least one. Second play showed us that how money power stamps on social and human morals. How does it feel: The first year batch of Visual Communication were all excited after their first experience of street play. The roles in the plays were given depending on each ones personality. “Fun, learned a lot, interest boosted in the street theatre, very great to work with such great mentors. Students’ cooperation was perfect, we really enjoyed it,” said Samsog Mackannin, one of the actors when asked about his experience. Everyone was seen satisfied with his/her own performance. The audience witnessed a world in which they are living through, the place in which there was sarcasm instead of comedy, pessimism instead of tragedy and stinking and stinging truth throughout. Indeed, it was todays world shown in a short span of time!

• Don’t Smoke- Experiments from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of getting cancer is higher).

• Don’t eat fruits immediately- Eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruits 1-2 hours after meal or at least an hour before meal.

• Don’t drink tea- Tea leaves contain high content of acid. This substance will cause the protein content in the food we consume to be hundred, thus difficult to digest.

• Don’t loosen your belt- Loosening your belt after meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted and blocked.

• Don’t bath- Bathing after meal will cause increase of blood flow to the hand, legs and body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease, this will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

• Don’t walk around- People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.

• Don’t sleep immediately- The food we intake will not be digested properly. Thus will lead to gastric infection in our intestine.

The frequent power cuts in Tamil Nadu have turned to be a fatal blow to the citizens. The 15 hours power cut makes the common man’s life miserable. It is the common man and the small scale industry workers who face the challenge most. When the large scale industries and the big shots enjoy the privilege of inventors and generators, the common man always crumble in darkness. This situation leads to the distraction of all the latest advancements that Tamil Nadu has attained for the last few decades. Frequent power failures seriously harm the life style of small scale traders and the shop keepers. They find it really difficult to manage their business without electricity.

It’s not just the common man, traders and the shop keepers who suffer but, the list includes housewives, students and passengers as well. The dark streets also lure the travellers into a death trap. This continuous power cut also promote robbery, burglary, and pick pocketing. True, the government is gives electronic equipments to the people in Tamil Nadu, but the million dollar question is aren’t they equally responsible to provide enough electricity to function these equipments? The hot climate with no electricity makes it impossible for a common man to live in. If the government fails to find a way out to this problem it will push the people to lead a miserable.

Oscar Barfi...Oshien Rebello, I Year Masters in Journalism & Mass Communication

Barfi, directed by AnuragBasu, starring RanbirKapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’cruzis undoubtedly one of the best and intelligent films to be churned out in a long time. Accepting oneself with all shortcomings, loving each other and smiling your way… all the way upto the finish line - this is how one can describe.Barfi! This film has been selected as India's entry for Oscars.

It was chosen from the 20 entries sent from the country. Speaking about his film being selected

into Oscars, its lead actor RanbirKapoor said, "We all are very happy.... It is a team effort but we should not be that excited as the film

just got an entry from India. He further added, "We are yet to be selected for the main entry. If the film gets a go ahead, we would take advice from Aamir Khan about how to go ahead."

When asked about Barfi's box office collections, Ranbir said, "The film has earned about Rs. 60 crore. It feels great.... We have reached so many people, touched so many hearts. Why only Rs.100 crore, everyone makes that mark. I would target for Rs. 500crore"

L Suresh from South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce said that a lot of thought had gone before making the final decision, but most members voted for Barfi.

Till now only three films (Mehboob Khan's Mother India, Mira Nair's Salam Bombay and Aamir Khan's Lagaan) from India have managed to get to the final round of Oscar nominations so far.

The 85th Academy Awards will take place on February 24, 2013.

This could happen in any household. Housewife died due to burns sustained in the kitchen. Her husband too was hospitalised for the injuries due to burns while trying to rescue his wife.

The gas stove was on and cooking under process, the lady observed some cockroaches near the sink and grabbed the can of insect killer, sprayed it near the gas stove which was on. There was an explosion in no time; the poor woman was covered in flames, sustaining 65% burns. Her husband rushed in, tried to douse the flames and his clothes to caught fire. The husband was hospitalized

in the burns ward, still unaware the fact that his wife was declared dead on arrival.

All insect killer sprays such as “Hit, Mortien” and so on, have highly volatile and inflammable solvents. The automised nano spray particles spread out rapidly and one spark is enough to ignite this explosive mixture with oxygen present in the air. Did the poor lady realise the hazard involved? Apparently not!

Please educate your family about this and spread the word around. Who knows you may save more than a life. Take care.
