In late 1999 thecompany was acquired by Hays plc. He was also appointed to Hays plc’s StrategicDevelopment Committee reporting directly to the plc board. In 2003 he left Hays to formanother Private Equity-backed MBI buy-and-build as Chief Executive. Between March 2004and August 2004 the company completed three acquisitions and between August 2004 andAugust 2006 profits in the group were doubled, from £1.4 million to over £3 million, follow-ing the implementation of an integration and restructuring plan for the acquired businesses.
