Mavericks Volleyball: As of 11/7/16

By: Chelsea W. Last week was the end of the 2016-2017 season for the Mavericks volleyball team. Their last game was Wednesday, November 2nd against Ridge Road Middle school. Their ending record was 12 wins, 2 losses, throughout the season. The vol-leyball, softball, and golf banquet honors the players and their family as they cele-brate the season together. Every family brings food and everyone eats dinner to-gether and the coaches present players with certificates and select players get awarded special medals and trophies.

Bradley Football By: William R

The Bradley Mavericks had an encouraging season after all the injuries and defeats. We came out with a better record of 2 and 5. We won against J.M Alexander and Ranson Middle School. We have enjoyed the fantastic fans that have supported us since the start of the season. We had nearly half the school come out and see us play, they were awesome! Bradley was coached by head coach Herbert Williams, assistant coach Brian Bourque, and defensive coordinator Coach Gil Parker. These people have helped us to have our best season. Also thanks to Power. E for being our lead scorer. Good job Mavericks! We will do even better next season in 2017!

This softball season has been great! A lot of friendships were made and a lot of games were won. The team only lost three

games the whole season, and won their other games by a long shot. The last game they won 19 to 4 and Olivia pitched beautifully. Many points were scored this season and I hope the team for 2017 will be even better!! Congrats Mavericks. A Day in a the Life of a Teacher By: Jamie S. and Katie T.

On Monday October 17, 2016 we interviewed two teachers that are new to this school. The first teacher we interviewed was Mr. Kolod; an 8th grade history teacher. Mr. Kolod has been teaching a total of five years. Two of those years were part time. The other three years were full time. His favorite thing about teaching is work-ing with students and continuing to study history. Mr. Kolod was in-spired to be a teacher from his previous teachers. We asked Mr. Kolod how long he works on school related items: his answer was two to four hours everyday. Mr. Kolod wakes up every morning at six o’clock.

The second teacher we interviewed was Mr. Ives; a 7th grade history teacher. We asked Mr. Ives a series of questions. This is Mr. Ives first year ever teaching he has been teaching for two months. His favorite thing about teaching is seeing the students. His former teachers inspired him to be a teacher. Mr. Ives spends at least ten hours a week outside of school working on school items. Mr. Ives wakes up every day at 5:45 to get ready for work. He gets up this early because he lives forty minutes away from school.

2016 World Series

By: Cameron K. Well, it came down to 2 teams, the defending N.L. Champs — the Chicago Cubs and the defending A.L. Champs — the Cleveland Indians. In game 1, Indians pitcher Corey Kluber did great as the Tribe win game 1. Game 2 the Cubs did good as the Cubs ace Jake Arrieta had a no-hitter when Jason Kipnis of the Indians end his no hit as the Cubs win game 2 and they are heading back to Wrigley. This is the first World Series at Wrigley Field at night. Kyle Hendricks did ok, but the game went scoreless until Coco Crisp got a base hit and Michael Martinez scored. The Indians lead the Se-ries 2-1. Game 4, Indians ace pitcher, Corey Kluber, got his second win as the Indians are one game away for winning their first title since 1948. Carlos Santana hit a homerun in the third inning and Cubs could not win at Wrigley. Game 5, the final game at Wrigley for the 2016 season! The Cubs did good when Kris Bryant hit a homerun in the fourth inning and the Cubs win game 5 to force a game 6. Back in Cleveland, the Indians did not do so good in game 6. Well, in the first inning, Dexter Fowler hit a homerun in the first inning and the Cubs kept scoring while the Indians were fighting back. Rajai Davis hit a homerun in the eighth and the Indians tied the game sending it to extra innings. Just then, the rain started and there was 17 minute delay in the top of the tenth. Ben Zobrist hit a base hit and Miguel Montero scored to advance the Cubs lead 8 to 7. In the bottom of the tenth, Mike Montgomery pitched and Michael Martinez hit a groundout to Kris Bryant who threw the ball to Anthony Rizzo and gain the Cubs win ending the 108 year curse! Myths About Thanksgiving

By: Celeste F.

A Day in the Life... By: Jamie S. and Kaitie T.

On Monday October 17, 2016 we had the chance to interview two teachers. The first teacher we interviewed was Mrs. Hippensteel “Mrs. Hipp.” She is the dance teacher located in the gym. She has been teaching for ten years before coming to this school. This is Mrs. Hipp’s first year teaching at this school. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing her students joyful and happy while learning to dance. Mrs. Hipp was inspired to be a teacher from her former teachers. We asked Ms. Hipp how long she works on school related items outside of school: her answer was a couple hours. Ms. Hipp wakes up everyday at five o’clock. The second teacher we were able to interview was Ms. Hall; the school's art teacher. She has been teaching here at Bradley for one (1) year. Her favorite thing about teaching is helping the stu-dents. Ms. Hall was inspired by her first grade teacher (they have the same last name). Ms. Hall works on school related items 3-4 hours a week. We asked Ms. Hall what time she gets up in the morning; her answer was 6:30. ShhO She hits the snooze button until 7:00 though.
