The major problem has always been that after installing a new pileit immediately starts to deteriorate. This happens because of smallscrapes and cracks in the previously applied coating whichcontinues to increase in size due to the outside environmentalattack upon the base metal to make the pile.

Underwater coatings are only a temporary patch and over a shortperiod of time they fail because of impossible surface preparationand environmental attack.

Pile wrap systems have always been used with limited to moderatesuccess. Eventually the outer sleeves that are designed to secureand protect the corrosion resistant tape fail. The tape is notdesigned to withstand the splash zone environment, on its own itquickly deteriorates. It requires a tough permanent cover.

This is where Perma-Pile comes in.

Utilizing Pilecap’s patented structural friction coupler technology,Perma-Pile is designed to protect the tape wrap in every environment. Perma-Pile is designed especially forprotection against hydraulic activity, ice build up, debris, and salt water. Perma-Pile uses a quarter-inch steeljacket that can be engineered for any size or shape including H-Piles, then pre-coated with Pilecapsproprietary coating system. Prior to installation, Pile-Bond 690 epoxy sealing system is applied to seal theupper and lower ends of the corrosion control jacket, then is assembled with stainless steel bolts washers andnuts and torque to designed specifications.
