To reach the Spiti valley one can connect this place from Shimla by driving down to Kaza, the district headquarters, which lies at about 400 kilometers. This road is passing through Kinnaur, so it is open throughout the year. The climatic conditions of this region are known for being at extremes. This is one of the key regions that it is counted amongst the least dense region of country.
