popularity, being exported to China and drawing 150,000,000 people in front of TV.

In Korea, people say marriage is not about two people getting together, but about two different families merging into one. This drama presents two families with sharply contrasting values. One is conservative and patriarchic, the other modern and utilitarian. The drama comically portrays the troubles that arise as these two families become quarrelsome in-laws, while also delivering an insightful message about the importance of harmonizing traditional and progressive values.

Born as an illegitimate son of a nobleman, Hur Jun meets a renowned physician named Yoo Eui-tae, who changes his life by teaching him medicine. Hur Jun’s humanly struggle against social barriers and his selfless devotion to healing the sick will leave a lasting impact on the audience.

Despite being born a low-class girl in a male-dominated society, Jang-Geum overcomes a series of social discrimination and base schemes with wisdom and persistence, ultimately becoming the king’s physician.
