New Name, New Lookby Krista Goecker

Welcome to New Hope Christian College! The name change from Eugene BibleCollege took effect on June 10, 2010.President Wayne Cordeiro shared that the

changing of the name has multiple purposes.

This leverages off of 30-plus years of a globalministry that God has been using in mighty ways. Itenfranchises a network of over 100 churches in the NewHope Movement along with Open Bible, Foursquare,Assemblies of God and many other denominations thathave been partnering with New Hope over the years. Itwill be quickly recognized when people hear the name,he said.

Cordeiro said that the amein the new logo for NHCCrepresents rst, knowledge.

Second, it is the tongue ofre that came on the day ofPentecost in Acts 2. Third, itis the shekinah glory of theLord that led the Israelites inthe desert by a pillar of re.

The threefold meaning is important because if NHCCraises up leaders with knowledge but not the Holy Spiritempowering and guiding them, then NHCC faces thedanger of creating a Pharisaical mindset.

Live Exceptionally, will be the newtheme throughout the College.

The phrase will be on windows and stamped on nishedhomework.

It is the students and staff who are going to determinewhat New Hope is going to be, said Doug Kennedy. He said the changes are the groundwork to help peoplecatch what it is.

Kennedy is the project manager for New Hope ChristianFellowship in Hawaii and has been working there for 11years. He does interior design as well as marketing.

New Hope Christian College is getting a refreshing newlook, bringing the College to a current day and feel.Kennedy said the colors will be crimson red and navyblue plus some white.

There are also eight ag poles installed around the crosson the hill above the campus. These ag poles are goingto y eight different international ags.

The changes will give NHCC a fresh start.n
