AUTHORS AND EDITORS

Author Emeritus Derwyn Hancocks, B.A., has held both management and executive positions in human resources with well-known private sector Canadian companies. He was the founding chair of the Peel Industrial Training Advisory Committee and has taught labour relations at Sheridan College.

Editor Michele Glassford, is a lawyer and editor ad Derwyn Hancocks and Associates. She is a researcher and policy analyst with a background in labour law. Michele graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and York University and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1994. In addition to a part-time law practice in Stoney Creek, Alberta, Michele has

worked in the field of labour adjustment for the Health Sector Training and Adjustment Program and has been a Researcher for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Michele also holds the position of Vice President and Managing Editor of D.R. Hancocks & Associates, Inc.

Managing Editor Yosie Saint-Cyr, LL.B., was called to the Quebec bar in 1988 where she practised employment and labour law until 1999. Yosie is one of Canada's best-known and most-respected HR authors, with an extensive background in employment and labour law across the country. She is also the HRinfodesk Managing Editor.

Legal Editor The Labour and Employment Group at McCarthy Tétrault regularly advises and, where

appropriate, provides representation on employment standards, human rights, pay

equity, privacy, pensions and benefits, worker's compensation and occupational health and safety. Members of the Group include litigators with considerable experience in labour and employment related matters, including injunctions and wrongful dismissal claims. For unionized employers, the Group's lawyers assist in the negotiation of collective agreements, both "at the table" and in a consulting role and provide representation in labour arbitrations. The Labour and Employment Group provides

counsel on union certification and decertification proceedings, unfair labour practice complaints and other union disputes, including strikes and picketing and helps clients avoid workplace disputes by providing proactive, practical advice.

Paul A. Boniferro is a partner in the Labour and Employment Group at McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Toronto and a member of McCarthy Tétrault's Board of Partners. Mr.

Boniferro uses his unique combination of experience gained in the private and government/political sectors to advise clients on a wide spectrum of employment
