Amy Hudson – Broker/Owner of RE/MAX 8, marathoner, world traveler,

gourmet connoisseur and mom – embodies excellence in real estate

through a strict adherence to her team’s guiding principles of integrity,

honesty, service and progress.

After graduating from Columbia University in 1991, Amy earned her real

estate license in 1995 and her broker’s license in 1999. As a Top Producer

at a local firm for more than a decade (including winning the

Salesperson of the Year award several times), Amy opened her own

company, RE/MAX 8, in 2008.

Amy was the first in the Blacksburg area to utilize virtual tours for marketing listed properties,

and the first to create her own specialized team of real estate professionals to address the

widest possible array of real estate needs.

Amy is a Graduate of the REALTOR Institute, a Certified Residential Specialist, and an

Accredited Buyer Representative. She is also a graduate of the Virginia Association of

REALTORS’ Leadership Academy and has served on the Virginia Association of REALTORS’

Board of Directors. She was the New River Valley Association of REALTORS president in 2005,

and has received association awards for REALTOR of the Year, Salesperson of the Year, and

Ethics in Action.

She currently lives in Blacksburg, with her two daughters, stepson, and husband Michael

Mortimer, who is the Director of Natural Resources Programs National Capital Region for

Virginia Tech.
