Please note that if you are referring for an orthopaedic
consult, in order to facilitate a speedy response, the following
x-rays should be ordered in advance of the actual appointment
Hip: AP Pelvis, lateral of affected hip
Knee: Weight bearing AP, flexion lateral, Rosenberg and Merchant
views
Foot: Always weight bearing – AP, lateral, axial
Spine: AP, lateral and lateral oblique
Wrist: AP, lateral, radial/ulnar deviation views and clenched
fist in supination

Orthopaedics is a major area of expertise at HMC and the Clinic
has a vibrant orthopaedic practice. Our consultants provide
services in all aspects of orthopaedic surgery, from minimally
invasive joint, hip and knee replacement to ankle, shoulder
procedures and foot surgery .
The orthopaedic service at HMC offers a multidisciplinary
approach to care including consultant orthopaedic surgeons,
clinical nurse specialists, a physiotherapy team and other allied
health professionals.
Along with two dedicated state-of-the-art orthopaedic operating
theatres with full laminar air flow, enabling skilled surgeons to
perform all orthopaedic surgery, HMC also offers a comprehensive
diagnostic imaging department, which provides a service across a
range of modalities including MRI, CT and Digital X-Ray. The Clinic
also offers an interventional radiology service for orthopaedic
patients who may require it.
