A special thank you to John Priem and Linda for their gracious hospitality in their 22nd year of hosting the Newport Beach Boat Par- ade/Anaheim Rotary Christmas party at their lovely home. Linda made several excellent meat loaves and green beans which were accompanied by a variety of appetizers, side dishes and desserts our fellow Rotarians brought to keep us completely full. Please remind your friends to have a designated driver or take a cab and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Disaster Aid USA: Saving Families in South SudanWe will provide shelter, clean water, solar lights, and mosquito nets to displaced families in South Sudan. Disaster Aid USA, a Rotary Club Project, began in June of 2009. We now celebrate our two- year anniversary with this special campaign to help the families in South Sudan with a family size tent, solar lighting that helps prevent crimes in the temporary villages, a clean water filter that will last for years and provide up to 200 gallons of clean water daily, and mosquito nets to prevent mosquito-bourne illnesses, which can be deadly in young children. This will be our 3rd deployment to the area. We have been asked to return due to the large number of displaced families who have been forced to flee their villages and local agencies in Sudan were very impressed with our unique tents and have asked us to return. In addition, there is need for clean water and lighting, so we are adjusting our aid package for this deployment to meet the needs of the people. A $500 donation provides: 8 person tent, water filter, solar light and mosquito net. Visit us at: www.disasteraidusa.org. Or go to: Anaheimrotary.com/ in order to see the new video on the Anaheim Rotary Website!

The Squeakquelle

Jeanine and Phil DéMarks

Phil DéMarks is a personal friend of the editor and a good friend of Anaheim Rotary, as he has been a proof reader for the Squeak for the last three years. He along with Arline Vezina, and Trent Adams have been loyal to the task of making this newsletter the quality production you read every week!

Linda Edwards and Denise Buben

Linda gives Denise a great big hug of appreciation! Denise has helped Linda with the serving and clean- up activities during and after the party for the last several years. Both John and Linda really appreciate Denise’s yearly contribution to the success of their event! Assisting Denise this year were Gloria and Vance Coulston! True Service-Above-Self!

Cristin Sain Chelsey Foltz Cathrine Sain

It is always a pleasure to have members of our Rotary bring their children to our events. It’s the only way we can keep track of what’s going on in their lives. Thank you Steve for sharing the girls and their friend with the club this weekend!

What a treat it is see all of the yachts so decorated every year. This year was very special as there seemed to be more participation than in years past. This year, many of the boats had great themes and the added touch of amplified music. Very impressive!
