RULES

1 Ages will be taken as of the 1st January 2018 and proof of date of birth will be required if challenged.

2 The decision of the adjudicator is final. An objection may be lodged by a teacher in writing with a fee of £10.00.

3 There must be perfect silence in the hall during the performance of each competition. 4 Dancers must be in full costume including shoes for the presentation of prizes. 5 Children up to and including the age of 12 are prohibited from wearing face make-up. 6 All dancers are prohibited from wearing any form of glitter on their face. 7 There is to be no changing of costumes in the competition hall. Changing rooms are provided. 8 NO SMOKING or alcohol permitted anywhere within the school grounds. 9 Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent in the competition hall. 10 Any form of unauthorised photography which captures a dancer’s image whilst taking part in

competition is expressly forbidden. This covers photography by means of cameras, mobile phones, video cameras, or any other portable electronic devices. However they may be used during prize giving.

11 Competitors in Beginners A, B and figure must wear class costumes or skirt and blouse etc. Those wearing solo costumes will not be allowed to compete and their entry fee will not be refunded.

12 Beginners A – Confined to competitors who have never won 1st place in that particular dance in any age group. Beginners B – Confined to competitors who have never won 1st place in that particular dance in any age group.

13 Pre-Open – Confined to competitors who have never won 1st place in that particular age group. 14 Open – Open to all competitors. Competitors may only compete in the age group above if a dance is

not catered for on the syllabus. 15 In the case of figure competitions, it is permissible to have 25% of a team younger that the age

specified. 16 From U9 upwards dancers must compete in at least one open solo competition to be eligible to

compete in Open Solo championships (excluding the Treble Reel and Traditional Set Dance). 17 Once a dancer has won 1st prize in a competition they are not eligible for forthcoming competitions

even if they have been pre-paid. 18 Claddagh Reel Cup ** - Confined to London & Home Counties & Southern England Regional

Branches for dancers who have never won a Non Cup Holder Reel or any Championship in any age group under one or three adjudicators with one or two dances.

19 Outside London Cup* – Confined to dancers outside of the London & Home Counties and Southern England Regional Branches.

20 Beginners A Trophy Reel – Competitors must be in beginners A for the Reel. The winner will progress into beginners B for this dance.

21 Beginners B Trophy - Competitors must be in beginners A or B for the dance they perform. The winner will progress into pre-open for the dance performed.

22 Pre Open Trophy’s – Competitors must be in pre-open for the dance they perform in the trophy (excluding the Treble Reel and Traditional Set Dance). The winner will progress into open for the danced performed.

23 Figure & Set Dance Competitions – No additional Figure or Set Dance entries will be permitted over the weekend.

The Studio Tour is located 20 miles north-west of London and less than three miles from the M1 and M25 motorways (postcode - WD25 7LR).

Regular public transport serves the attraction and a shuttle bus from Watford Junction train station is available, costing £2.50 per return journey.

A valid booking confirmation or Studio Tour ticket is required to board the shuttle bus service. Please ensure you have these to hand on arrival at the station.

Trains from Watford Junction depart to London Euston regularly and direct trains take around 20 minutes.
