Needle felt filter medianeedlona® needle felt can be used for a wide variety ofapplications and under different conditions due to theirversatile design. Its special feature is that the needlona®

needle felt fibre layer is applied on a stable scrim base, resulting in excellent durability and longer life time.

Fine dust filter media with ePTFE membranePM-Tec® filter media achieve a submicron fine dust filter resultthanks to a calendered ePTFE membrane on the raw gas side. Smooth and sturdy lamination made from expanded PTFE results in excellent filtering and dedusting performance. PM-Tec filter media can also be used for high-temperature applications.

High-temperature filter elementsPyrotex® KE ceramic filter elements are the perfect product for high-temperature applications up to 850°C. A decisive advantage: In addition, the fibre material is bio-soluble according to EU standard Q67/69/EC and is absolutely harm-less. Equipped with a catalyst KAT, dedusting and denoxing (deNOx) can be performed in a single process stage.

The history of the BWF GroupFive generations – more than 120 years

The fusion of two independent wool felt companies in 1962 resulted in the foundation of the “Bayerische Wollfilzfabriken KG Offermann, Zeiler, Schmid & Co. KG Offingen Hof”(BWF). One of the original compa-nies was founded in 1892 by Theodor Wilhelm Schmid and his partners in Hof and the other one four years later in Offingen by the entrepreneurs Silbermann and Lembert. In 1912, Johann Offermann took over the Lembert shares. Until their fusion, both companies had been in the felt production industry. In 1956, BWF succeeded in producing the first extruded plastic “Plexigum” profile. This milestone marks the foundation of BWF Profiles. Expansion of activities into the filter media segment led to the foundation in 1968 of BWF Envirotec, which pioneered filter media production in Europe. In the followingdecades, until the turn of the millennium, BWF successfully managed to set foot in the USA, Italy and China. Installation of further international production facilities in Turkey, India and Austria characterised the past and current decade at BWF Group under the fourth and fifth generation of owner-management.
