Words From Your Treasurer

Hey District Board!

Just like how October was important

for Early Bird Dues, November is the month

of importance for Regular Dues. I insist that

Club Treasurers call or email International

at 1(800)KIWANIS ext.411 or

[email protected]. They can

also call or email me with any questions

about the dues process.

There’s finally a dues chart up that is

updated. This chart can be found by

clicking here and contains information

about clubs like their club ID, their division,

and their dues paying status for the 2012-

2013 and 2013-2014 service years. Please

let me know if I am missing any schools

Yours in the spirit of service,

Alexander Mok

District Treasurer 2013 – 2014

from your division.

Our Tri-K board meeting held on November 15-17, 2013 was jam-

packed with information of all sorts. I summarized this information on Page 4,

emphasizing the fundraising aspect of it. Please remember to plan your

workshops once you get the assignment. I will see you at the next board

meeting!

Tri-K Board Meeting Recap

Miracle Minute

&

The ELIMINATE Walk

In just one weekend, the New York

District Key Club Board was able to

raise over $1500 for our Kiwanis

International Charities. Please share

this with all your clubs to hopefully

inspire them to fundraise and to

support our District Projects.

Kamp Kiwanis

A goal was set at Tri-K for

every club to raise at least $100

for Kamp Kiwanis by April 15,

2014. The club that raises the most

money by this date gets recognized

with 2 limos to a school event like

prom. $100 is super easy to fundraise.

For large clubs, that's approximately

$1 per member. For smaller clubs,

that's approximately $5 per

member.

PLDF Week: 2/3/14 to 2/7/14

Monday: Wear green to school.

Tuesday: Educate others about Lyme

disease.

Wednesday: Fundraise for PLDF.

Thursday: Distribute tick kits.

Friday: Involve your K-Family in

any event related to PLDF.

Connect with

Kiwanis

and Circle K

It is always recommended to

stay in touch with your counterparts

or even any other K-Family member.

Role of Club Treasurer

What should a Club Treasurer be doing in November?

The Festive Idea

Farmer’s Market

Open a farmer’s market in

your local community or

your school and sell anything

homemade or grown. You

can also sell Thanksgiving

themed dishes!

In November, they should be:

Holding fundraisers and sending in FRFs and proofs

Sending their member roster and dues check

Working on the Distinguished Key Clubber application

Reviewing the requirements for the Distinguished Club

Treasurer Award

November Fundraising Ideas

The Low Budget Idea

Prom Dress Fundraiser

Ask for donated prom

dresses from students or even

local organizations and sell

them for a profit. It’s never

too early to start looking for

the perfect dress!

The Extra Special Idea

Trivia Night

Host a trivia night where

people can pay to compete

with other teams. Donated

or low-cost items can be

obtained as prizes.

District and International Dues Collection

Below you will find a breakdown of how every club member’s dues are used. The

money is never gone to waste, and it is important to tell current and prospective

members where their money is going.

For the 2013 – 2014 service year, dues will be $12.50 in addition to the optional

$1 – $3 that each club can add. The breakdown of dues is shown below.

Look on Page 10 to find out which of your clubs have and have not had their

checks and invoices processed by International. If there is no “X” next to your

school’s name, that means the club has not submitted dues yet. Please remind

them of the importance of dues submission. Also remind them that you,

International, and I are here to answer any questions about dues.
