We wish to bring to the Bhondsi prison some of the good practices currently observed in Tihar Prisons. The inmates at the Bhondsi prisons mostly belong to rural backgrounds and (barring a few) they all are illiterate. A 47 day Jute Craft training workshop at the female prison of Bhondsi Jail, powered and sponsored by Aegis Happy World initiative was concluded on 21st September, with 24 females inmates receiving certification for their participation. We are currently encouraging this skill by enabling the female inmates to build an inventory of jute products for sale to corporates and individuals, thus awarding them a monthly stipend.
