Celtic homes

Celts lived in crannógs, hill forts or ring forts. Hill forts were built on hills and three metre high walls were built around them. The benefit of living in a hill fort was you could see your enemy if they were coming to attack. Crannógs were built in the centre of a lake. They had no windows and no chimney. They were made of stone or wood and mud and the roof was made of straw or reeds.

Celtic weapons

The celts were the first to discover how to use iron so they had the best weapons. They had hammers, axes swords, spears and shields. They were all made out of iron so enemies found it hard to fight against them. They were skilled fighters.

Celtic beliefs

The celts had lots of beliefs and different gods for different things. They believed that the serpant was wisdom, the hare was good fortune and the dragon was a gaurdian spirit. Their gods played a very big part in their daily routines. Cernunnos was one of the celtic gods. He was the god of fertility, life, animals, wealth and the underworld.

I think the celts sound a lot like us in many ways because they liked sport and religion and I read that most of them had blonde hair and blue eyes like us.
