SurvivalSurvival1. Beginning 2. Middle3. End

1. Beginning 2. Middle3. End

1. Timothy showed Phillip many ways to survive, here are some. Timothy built a shelter from the sun. He only gave Phillip enough water to wet his tongue. He caught a raw fish and saved food by eating it. He lets Phillip go on the warmer side of the boat. Timothy stayed calm when Phillip went blind. He doesn’t argue with Phillip on the boat. He tells Phillip where they are with longitude and latitude.

2. Timothy makes a hut on the island for shelter. Phillip draws H-E-L-P in the sand then Timothy put rocks over. Phillip/ Timothy made mats to sleep on. Timothy weaved a rope and tied it to Phillip so Phillip would know where he is. If Phillip hears a plane when Timothy is gone he can light the fire to alert the plane about there presents. Timothy got some logosto to eat at the water. They made a trough to catch water when it rains.

3. Timothy feels a tempis coming and then they prepare for it. Timothy ties vines around the trunk of the tree to tie themselves to when it hits. Timothy ties the water keg to a tree same with other stuff so it won’t wash away. After Timothy dies Phillip takes a stick for a cane and walks the beach looking for new things on the island. He uses his cane to fight off birds that he finds on the island. He got hungry for longosto and went into the water and felt the walls for them. He finds a hole in the wall thinking a giant one is in there. He reaches in it and gets bit and he swims up and shakes it off. He uses grape vines to make black smoke so he has a good chance of being found.

Main CharacterMain CharacterI choose Phillip as the main character

because the book is mostly about him. He is very prejudice about black people. He

makes fun of them because they are black and can’t stand to be with them. He hates Timothy until he became blind and started to get used to him. At the end of the book

he become unprejudiced and starts hanging out with black people. Another trait is stupidity. Phillip fell in the water

with sharks all around him while sleeping and almost killed timothy. He also jumped in the water to catch longosto by himself. He stuck his hand in hole in the wall and

got bite

EpilogueThe Cay is sort of oval shaped. Their hut is

around the middle and the highest point in the beach. There are all different types of fish around it. There are coral reefs with longosto around it. I think the island would be fun to live on for awhile but then it would get boring. Two people named Phillip and Timothy got stuck on a raft and drifted on the island. Then they started to build stuff on the island. They made fires on it and roasted fish

and longosto. The Cay changed because a hurricane hit it and

made everything fly all over the place. There was a new nesting grounds for birds. The island will

always be changing. They built a fire and a camp on the island.

Epilogue2If I returned to the cay I think it would be fun. It would also be very memorable. If I was stuck on it the first time it would have been really fun to live there. There is so much to do at the Cay. You could learn how to be a hard worker if you went to that island. I think Phillip and Timothy

would both enjoy going back. The Cay made me realize that it doesn’t matter if

your black or white. It depends on the person you are. Being blind isn’t so bad even if you have

to wear glasses. It helps you learn how other people feel. That’s why you shouldn’t tease

people.
